My granddaughter went in and all she needed was a root touch up and toned her hair is blonde she came home with grey, pink, purple and I don't even know some kind of rose gold....and this was the night before a big dance at school and then have the nerve to blame it on florescent light and then blame it on her hair ...

Yay!? Just moved here from Chicago and had to find new "Everythings"! Search no further!! My first attempt to find a new salon didn't turn out so well but luckily I found Rita on my second attempt and am able to check off my search for all my future hair cut/color needs! Rita took the time during our consultation to listen to my concerns and selected the perfect "recipe" to cover my nasty gray outgrowth! We decided highlights were not necessary just yet, (when she easily could have just done them and charged). Next came the cut! The cut was perfect! I was concerned it would be too short, due to my last haircut at another salon...but Rita listens...takes her time and is truly a professional! Come to find out, she's also the owner! I'm so happy...my search is over! Looking forward to going back for all my hair care needs! Thank You Rita!!

I was nervous about finding a new hairstylist, but could not be happier finding Rita. Rita took my middle of back hair to a shoulder length shag with bangs. It requires someone with higher than average cutting skills to make sure the layers fall the way they should due to the cut. Not only did I get a fabulous cut, I was given a wonderful shampoo and conditioner suggestion that has made a huge difference in my hair. Don't wait, you will be happy with the results sitting in Rita's chair.

OMG! I am so pleased to find this Salon and specifically Rita, who happens to be the owner. I am 72, I have hair loss and hide it between having a perm and a good cut. She did a wonderful job of both today! I do not give compliments easily, especially on this topic! Additionally my hubby has very thick and course hair with a cow lick and finds a hard time finding someone who meets his criteria as well. Rita won another thumbs up from another who doesn't give approval lightly! If you are looking for a stylist that knows what they are doing and does listen to you, look no further! Rita thank you I love my hair I got highlights and cut great experience. Rita is the owner and stylist she friendly, professional does her best to listen to what you want and guide gently to what is best for your hair. She also did my Grandson's hair he got a perm and cut turn out fantastic, he was more then happy and he's very picky about his hair. So recommend A Shear of Joy by Rita if your looking for a quality place to get your hair done.

Rita quickly fit me in for a trim, in between clients and took such amazing care of me! I’ve been so scared to get my hair cut again due to nightmare stylists… She is now the only one I trust with scissors near my hair!!

Funny how all the reviews are from before Rita its not her websiteAnd yes I spent ten years working in this salon building my clientele, only for rita to come in 2 yrs ago a take your clients from you! rita "took over the lease",and ruined it!Now she has an empty salon!How joyous!
