Hugh, the 50+ year old "customer service" dude, is a blatant liar & such a sour puss. I stopped by the store today to return a cactus. As he scanned the barcode (observing him I would describe his demeanor as "annoyed"), I followed up by swiping my credit card to search up purchase history; however, it didn't show up. I explained to him that I recently got a new Costco Visa because the old one expired. He stared at the cactus and seeing how the cactus was in poor health, he asked when I purchased it. I told him it was during the Summer and said "I believe you guys have a 1-year guarantee on your plants", in which he replied: (STRIKE 1): "WE DON'T DO THAT ANYMORE." I walked away and used my phone to pull up Home Depot's Return Policy, which clearly states: "PERRENIALS, TREES, ROSES, and SHRUBS have a 1-year guarantee and can be returned after 90 days for Store Credit." I went back to show him, in which he replied: (STRIKE 2): "WELL, CACTUS ISN'T A PART OF THAT GUARANTEE." I then googled cactus and showed him that it is technically a PERRENIAL. (At this point, I can tell he has no intention of offering me any support). Now that he was wrong on 2x instances, knowing that I recently switched credit cards, he reverts back to the original technicality, which was that I am unable to prove that it was purchased within the year. He then responds: (HOMERUN): "WELL, THERE'S NO PROOF YOU PURCHASED IT WITHIN THE YEAR." Okay Hugh, you got me, mission accomplished. My initial explanation regarding my new credit card NOT having purchase history of the cactus flew right over your head. I suppose you got the satisfaction of successfully denying me... YOU WIN, your ego is supreme. To say the least, you have been such a "HUGH" INCONVENIENCE... (pun intended). Will I be coming back to this store? Of course, but I certainly hope not to run into him again. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . On an ending note: Afterwards, I decided to drive 5 miles west to the Home Depot on Germann past Gilbert Rd., and guess what? I was able to return to cactus for store credit ($34.98 + $2.73 tax, totaling $37.71) without any friction.

Most incompetent paint department ever. They mixed our paint color wrong the first time. My husband had no idea what paint color I picked and painted away. 2 rooms later I got home and noticed it was so very wrong. Mistakes were made and that's ok. Until I brought it back. The man told me it was mixed correctly, dried the original color on a stick, still tried to convince me it was correct. I've used this paint color in clients homes a ton so I have a pretty good idea of what it is suppose to look like. I asked if we could make it in a sample size with a new formula. Because I'm a contractor and have ordered paint for years and know there are several formulas. He didn't say a word and turned around and remixed it in a 5 gallon. He took a sample out and blow dried it, didn't show it to me, and told me it was the exact same sorry there was nothing else he could do. I had to put the two paint samples on a stick myself to dry them to compare them. as they were drying, I noticed the sticker that states the formula was completely different between the two, meaning the two paints couldn't be the same. No surprise, both paint samples were different, showing the first one was made incorrectly. Like I stated in the beginning. I'm a painting contractor, so my knowledge is more than the regular DIY customer. It's sad to know that the DIY customer that goes in there the most, this is how they're treated. Freddy didn't give me more than 30 seconds of "customer service" and I was the only one at the counter. Immediately taking more effort to tell me I was wrong than trying to figure out a solution. There was little to no effort to remedy the situation. Their paint department used to have so many helpful and knowledgeable associates behind the paint desk in the mornings for contractors. Not anymore.

Phil the assistant manager went above and beyond to help me with a busted vacuum. People like Phil are the type of employees you want representing your business. I hope he is well recognized from the store manager. Keep this guy at your store as long as you can!!!

Typical home improvement big box. Groups of employees hanging out instead of helping. Did find a guy in tool rental that was a good help. Best place for deals on tools and accessories.

Previously I wrote a not-so-nice review because my husband and I went and bought two gallons of paint at Home Depot. The guy in the paint department hammered down one can lid but not the other. When we got home my husband opened, the door of my Brand New Truck and paint was EVERYWHERE; new seat cover (for the dogs),seat, seat belts, carpet, door pockets, a book I had borrowed from a friend.,, (my husband had to drill a couple of holes in the plastic pockets to help drain out the, paint) etc. not counting the garage floor, drive way outside.. Total Disaster. We called a manager and sent her pictures. She told us where to file the claim which we did. Time went by and no word. My husband sent a note to the person in charge, asking what was going on. We finally got an email, apologizing for the delay and saying a check would be mailed for damages. Home Depot came through.and mailed us a check for damages. So I am back to being a Home Depot customer.

"How Doers Get More Done". What a load of crap! Shopping in the store at Power and Germann is more often than not a miserable experience and it's a reflection of the entire Home Depot corporate culture of satisfying their shareholders instead of focusing on customer service. There was a time when they actually hired plumbers, electricians, and tradesmen which was incredibly helpful to customers. Now you can wander the store and you are lucky if an employee even acknowledges you. You will receive little if any help and then you get to check yourself out at the register while four of five employees stand around you and do not even offer to assist. Many of these employees are just downright rude and don't want to be bothered. Additionally, this store is a cluttered mess making it difficult to navigate a shopping cart. I highly suggest you shop at Lowes or True Value both of which are nearby.

This place has the worst customer service. I placed an oder online and i waited til the next day to go in store and see what the issue was since the website said over 10 were in stock. The customer service counter rep named grace was rude as hell. She said"well the system shows none in topstock so we must be out". She don't even make an attempt to look in topstock or page a floor rep. So she canceled my order. Double digits is a big discrepancy to have. My order number was WM50993035 in the off chance Home Depot even reads or cares about reviews.

I would like to give a big thank you to Tom and Jayden in the tool rental department. I bought a lawn mower from their store about a year ago. Dew to health issues I was only able to use it about 10 times. It sat in the garage for about a year. Able to do my lawn now I tried to use it but it wouldn't start. Tom and Jayden walked me through getting it started. Turns out the carborater needed replaced. They showed me step by step on how to replace it. It runs like a champ now. Employees like them are the reason I stay loyal to Home Depot for all my home improvement needs. Thank you again Tom and Jayden. Sincerely, Barry Owens

New set up of the store is awful. There is no stock and no help. I refuse to check myself out. I am not shopping at Walmart for the same reason. If you don't have the help then let people know before they walk in. I went to Lowes after I left the Home Depot store. I left my cart full at your check out stand and purchased from a stocked Lowes store with staff that actually works for the consumer. I will continue to order from Amazon so I don't have to deal with the corporate none sense of your poorly managed store.

HAILEY is a bad representation for home depot. She had a snotty attitude and very unprofessional. She was asked to check me out by an older gentleman employee. She then proceeded to walk out and threw he gloves off with such great condescending attitude. I was taken off guard by seeing it. I ignored it because I thought maybe she got into a fight with a coworker. Then she proceeds to scan my 4 items. One of which i said, I changed my mind on after she scanned it. Then HAILEY'S attitude proceeded to get worse. She rolled her eyes and sounded annoyed and made smirking noises as she removed the item from computer. I at that point, felt huge disrespect and I said, "what's the problem here?" She again with an attitude says we are not supposed to check out here. i said, "how are we supposed to know that if that older guy told us we can?" She continues with her arrogant, snotty, uncalled for attitude and I said, get you manager up here and whats your name? She covers her badge up and said she wont give me her name. Two managers arrive and were very kind to listen to the issue. While I got a great discount on my 4 items, I would rather have the good customer service. HAILEY is a complete disgrace to the company and the ethics and morals home depot follows and abides by. At this rate, this girl will never survive in this real working world. I am a medical professional, practicing in the East Valley area. None of the employees bring their drama to work. HAILEY DOES NOT DESERVE A POSITION AT HOME DEPOT OR ANYWHERE with that kind of attitude! No manners at all.

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. The workers are lazy and too consumed with themselves and not being bothered with a question. Don't bother asking a question, they'll look at you dumbfounded. They spend too much time talking amongst each other that you feel you can't ask as a question. No respect for patrons, I won't go here again.

I was in this location on Sat 6/3 and witnessed, what I believe to be a manager, speaking so poorly to an employee. The way this employee was being spoken to was completely unprofessional and should not have been done in the middle of the store with customers all around. I hope this is a one off situation and not how managers treat their employees. I highly suggest this manager get re training on how to speak, and interact with their employees.

Home Depot's level of service has been dropping substantially. I ordered material for curbside pickup and when I arrived to pick it up, the link they sent me tried to make me download yet another app. Which would also require yet another account and password. No. Instead I called the store and after wading through an automated system that didn't recognize "curbside pickup" and made me repeat myself 3 times before sending me to the the front desk, they sent me to the correct department. When the employees arrived they didn't even make eye contact. One just complained at the other one that they couldn't just load everything with the forklift - the other said I didn't pay for the pallet so they had to manually load it all. I didn't care about the pallet but hearing them complain was both amusing and irritating. It took over 45 minutes to pick my items up. If I had not ordered ahead and just shopped myself I would have had it in 15. Ridiculous. As a final issue, the curbside pickup is limited in hours to 6 pm. Most of us can't get to the store that early after we work. It's ridiculous to cut off that early when the stores open to 10 pm. I'm going to Lowe's next time.
