This the closest store to us, yet we still drive out to Fry's in Gilbert. Why? Well this place is XXXX. From time to time we would pop in to get an item or two and sometimes a full shopping trip, but with this last FULL shopping visit, we are done!Selection: I give them props of having some traditional Chicago items that we have a hard time finding in the area. For example: Giardinera, they have it (Well now we will just get it at Portillo's in QC), Home Run Inn pizza is another. The meat department is a bit bare and the store itself is all smaller and seemingly less selection than the larger stores in the area.Pricing: Its a hit or miss, but with limited stock, some seem to be a good value and others are not.Service: This is where we draw the line. On our visit, which we spent $150+, we bought soda on the promo. Only to find out when we got back home that the limit was 1 promo (bottles, which were pictured on the ad and cans, which were not). So we were charged full price for the bottles. Would have been nice for the cashier to tell us that, but nope. So I took the receipt back to the store, at which point the limit was pointed out to me. I acknowledged that I should have paid close attention to the fine print; but the register discounted the cans, not the bottles. So I got the smallest discount possible and paid the highest full price as part of the transaction. Mgr just shrugged her shoulders. I said fine, I'll just come back and return the bottles. Came back next day, bottles in hand and saw a different mgr. Told her the issue and she seemed to not care either. Ok, NP. Got my refund and left. Not to mention that the Customer Service area is never staffed, as they float to help registers, etc. So both times I had to wait for them to come over, with no apology for making me wait. Again this was not a $ issue, but one of principle. When you are in a competitive environment, selling commodity goods: you win on customer service. In this case, you lost! So dont complain when this store is shuttered.

Found everything in my list and shelves appeared pretty well stocked. So no issues there. Even got a few of my items on discount with the digital coupons so that's always a win!! Got in line with a real cashier and not forced to go through the self checkout which I avoid at all costs. I would rather wait a couple extra minutes for a cashier than go through self check out. Just sayin.....

Great place to buy your needed bottles. Great price. The owner is fantastic. I would gladly come by again. Great prices. And I’m a fan of ordering from local businesses.

What a decline. 2 months ago I would have given 5 star review. Been shopping here for 15 years. Recent changes are that they have had a checker at 6 in morning. Now 9. The advertisement items not out especially butcher department. The attitudes of employees have declined drastically. I will still shop Safeway but never in this store.

I love this Safeway location. It's always friendly and accommodating. They are well stocked and the deli and bakery are top notch. Produce is fresh and i particularly like the meat selections. I definitely will make this my go-to.

Horrible experience with the Safeway pharmacy - pharmacy tech sassed me when I questioned price given me was more than 5x my Good Rx coupon. I wasn't making a big deal about it but was told if I have a problem call Good Rx. Informed her i didn't have a problem with the price charged but I had a problem with how she treated me. First and last time using this pharmacy!

Hello,I was at the Queen Creek, AZ store location today, Sunday August 27, 2023 for our weekly grocery shopping like we do every week. Our family likes the location because we are right across the street. And we always see are friends and family at this location when we shop. And every week we get deli meat and see the same people. One being the young punk kid with a piss poor attitude. Even my wife hates talking to this kid and she'll talk to anyone. Most of people that shop at Safeway refuses to get anything from this kid. Well today while I was grocery shopping, I went to the deli to get meat and the only kid available was the kid with the piss poor attitude. I asked for turkey and salami sliced thin, which he didn't say anything and didn't even ask if that was okay or not. So, then after he grabbed whatever kind of meat without asking, I asked if that was thinly sliced after he cut it and replayed back "yes" every rudely. Which the meat was not and I told him that it was not so, he replayed back, "that this thinly sliced and can't get any thinner" with an attitude. I told him I come here all the time and other people can get it sliced thinner than that. He replayed with no you can't so, I gave him the meat back and he throw it on the back counter behind. That is when I asked for him to get the manager. Then this young punk stomped around the counter and raised his voice and said "let's go get him then," and stormed to the front of the store. Then I followed him while still grabbing things I need for the week. At this time, he didn't see me follow right behind him, because I don't have time for this young punk attitude and I still have a couple of more things to grab before checking out. So, he finally saw that I was not following him and then at this time he yelled "aren't you coming!" And that is when I started to get pissed! I told him "You're on my time and you can wait for me." That is when I went to checkout and talked to the manager. Which he was nice put did a piss poor job of handling this kid. Also, he handled this is a way like nothing happened. That kid should be fired or at list set home without pay for some time. This is the problem with this world all of this young punk kids get away with treating adults like crap. I treat everyone with respect until they start with crap like this. And for not slicing my meat the way I want it. It is not that hard to do your job. The intitled little punks need to be told when they are wrong and management needs to disciplined these kids. I know you are not their parent, which I think they need to discipline this punk too. I have never been so disrespected anywhere before in my life. I would hope this kid learns not to be a little punk and grows up. Lastly, my family will not be shopping at Safeway any more. I have had enough. Also, almost all of the boxes with small chip bags where opened and it looks like someone ate a couple of bags out of them. Come on Safeway you all use to be the best store to go too. But not anymore. I guess we will be shopping at Fry's. Dan

Used to shop there twice a week for years. Stopped going sue to the prices and unprofessional staff. Well after months I figured I would see if it improved. Not one bit. Yet worse. Not only was there no cashier I had to do self checkout. I asked where a checker was and they do t come in until later in the morning. This was at 830 AM. Meanwhile management is standing around hiding behind the CS counter. Last time I set foot in there. Oh and I have addressed past issues with MGT. They do don't seem to care one bit.

This store is always clean and smells nice. The employees are friendly and always helpful. They still have a real butcher and they still open up the register making my life more convenient then those other stores.

This review is with regards to the bakery & ordering custom cookies/cakes. We ordered a cookie for my daughters birthday & Madison who took the order did a great job being very specific in the instructions. When we picked it up today it was not what we had ordered @ all except the writing. We'd asked to have the blue colors blended together w different sprinkles that Madison even attached to the order. It's like the decorator didn't even read the order instructions & did what they wanted instead. The edge was supposed to be the scalloped shell instead they did the dollops & there were spaces in between them Madison offered to re-do the cookie for us but we chose to take the one already made I'm mainly writing this review so people will be prepared for their cookie/cake to not turn out how they ordered it. The cake decorators @ Safeway need to pay more attention to the order instructions.

Pros and cons :Pros: prices were decent and the store was clean. Folks were helpful.Cons: what should have taken me less then 20min total, took me more like 35 minutes because I was walking all over the place looking for what I needed to get. Seems like an odd layout for some of the stuff, like the eggs don't even have a label on the aisle, I must have passed it 3 times. The dairy stuff is all over the place. Why is the bacon etc on the opposite end of the eggs etc.??

Don’t ever order a delivery from here! First time doing it and didn’t receive over 3/4 of my order?! Complete waste of time and money and now I’m left with fighting with the store to get my money refunded for the items I never received

I am extremely perplexed at how Safeway can effectively steal $60 from a 12 year old. He purchased the wrong item (with assistance) for an XBox gift card, and was given the wrong item (XBOX live credit). And now you refuse to return it. Pathetic.
