ACTIVSTARS

Hours: ActivStars is a youth recreation program that partners directly with schools to provide high-quality, affordable after-school cheerleading and sports activities. It offers children a chance to enjoy exercise, fun, friends, and positive team experiences outside the classroom, helping them thrive in various aspects of life. The program has built a strong reputation for its supportive coaches and positive environment. Many parents praise the coaches for their dedication, support, and ability to make cheerleading fun and rewarding. Coach Caliesta Goodwin, for example, is highly regarded for her role in building confidence and serving as a positive role model. Other coaches, such as Coach Toni, are appreciated for their support and making cheerleading enjoyable for children. The program is praised for being affordable, especially when compared to other all-star cheer organizations, with costs around $100 for 16 weeks and uniforms available at reasonable prices. Practices are sometimes closed, which initially surprised some parents, but most grew accustomed and appreciated the focus and quality of training. Many participants have experienced significant growth and success, with some children competing across the country and joining competitive teams like Zeus Pro Allstars. Long-term involvement is common, with some families participating for over 20 years and children aging out only to stay involved in volunteer roles. Overall, ActivStars is highly recommended for families seeking a supportive, cost-effective, and quality cheerleading program that helps children develop confidence, teamwork, and skills in a positive environment.
