We ordered the boneless prime rib "heat and eat" meal for Christmas Day. The pick up for the meal went very smoothly. Directions for heating each item were clear. The meat should take 30-60 minutes. We had hoped to eat about 4:30 so put the meat in at 3:30. An hour after the meat had cooked, the temperature read 40 degrees. Finally at 7 pm by cutting into the roast the meat was at least warm, so we ate it. It had never reached the temperature for medium rare. The scalloped potatoes were very bland. The beans almondine were weird. They looked cooked but tasted raw. The pie and rolls were good. The only thing I can guess is that the meat had been frozen and was still frozen in the center when we picked it up. I had hoped we would be getting a very good meal for Christmas, and it surely didn't happen. It was not the quality I expected from AJ's. Peggy Goodwin

What has happened to my beloved AJ's? Been shopping at this location for 20+years. The store seems crowded as, for whatever reason, they have decided to restage their non-food items. Why fix something that is not broken? With the exception of floral, which continues to be outstanding, service levels have plummeted. The check-out staff is far from friendly - just going through the motions. With one or two exceptions, staff constantly changes. I don't "recognize" the Deli any longer. I've mentioned to the Manager on a few occasions, that there is one Associate in the Meat Department that should be terminated. He's obnoxious and, actually this evening lost a sale of 8 lobster tails, because he wouldn't answer my simple question of..."how much are the lobster tails". He kept yelling at me "how many you want"? Turned me off and we walked out. I've always loved this location but I may have to change and see if another one is any better.

We absolutely love AJs we're there at least 3x per week. The staff and management are super friendly and helpful! The Energy drinks are my new favorite and they have so many awesome seasonal desserts! This morning we got the Berry energy drink/ Tropical Energy drink and the Breakfast burrito! Last week we enjoyed steak sandwiches from the Barbecue Grill on the patio!

Went in to talk about their thanksgiving menu options and asked if they had any allergen information for the meal/sides. They said they feel out each item and put in what they feel it needs. While I understand they have creative freedom I would like to think there would be some allergen guide. This is the only food establishment I have ever been to that could not provide nutrition and allergy information. I would recommend not stopping at any AJs if you have any sort of allergy.

I've eaten at the deli & grill here pretty regularly over the past month. While a few employees are happy, polite, and professional.. most are unhappy & rude. Definitely going to find another spot for my lunch breaks.

Haven't been to this one before- and probably won't be back. Went to the hot foods area on 11/2/23 looking for breakfast at 10:12am. Couldn't find any, but the man behind the counter had an entire tray of sizzling bacon in front of him. I asked if I could buy two pieces, he said "this for sandwiches, so I can't sell it." I said ok, I understood. I asked if any breakfast was for sale, he said "we stop at 10, so you just missed it." No problem, I understood. I went to the bakery area, got in line behind a wealthy woman and her daughter buying up half the bakery..I patiently waited for about 5 minutes eyeing the last chocolate croissant.. the entire time the employee (a heavier set female with glasses and long dark hair) saw me standing there patiently waiting- As I was waiting, people started coming up to the counter in different areas.. 2-3 were at the register and appeared to be waiting to pay for their purchases, while others just showed up in various locations around the bakery... I didn't see any traditional signage such as a "take a number" system like the other AJ's locations, or traditional clear signage that says "order here", "pay here" etc., so people were kind of just standing around in various locations. When she was finally done helping the wealthy woman and her daughter she looked straight at me, so I smiled and nodded, she didn't smile back, she just pointed at me, then pointed at other people and yelled "who's next"? Someone else just said "I am", and she walked away from me (the only person in front of her that was waiting the entire time) to the other side of the bakery and helped that person. I walked away initially, didn't say a word, and bought something else. I came back a few minutes later thinking that perhaps the line had died down, and I got in line behind people that had come in after me. The girls were still just pointing at random people saying "who's next and letting people figure it out, (there was still no real line). When I saw one of them buy the croissant, I just left. I've been to numerous other AJ's around the valley, this one just doesn't seem to have employees that care as much as regular AJ's employees at the other locations... AJ's really seems to be a cut above, and their employees seem to be that way as well, (that's why I have left numerous five star reviews for their other locations) but not the employees I ran into at this location. A bright spot was the heavier set male cashier with facial hair that charged me for my purchases, he seemed very nice. This location also seems to be smaller and has far less to offer than a traditional AJ's..

Unfortunately all of your reviews are based on the perception of AJS FINE FOODS being a FINE establishment. I can only speak on the Bistro, all though I am led to believe these unhealthy and unsafe situation happen often in all locations (except 44th and camelback).Michael the manager at the bistro does not wear any gloves while he prepares your food. I witnessed him slice fruit and vegetables (with the meat slicer) directly into his hands. I also witnessed him touch bacon, salmon, and other meats with no gloves. I never saw him washing his hands either.Michael, the manager, is also very unkept. Anyone in food service should know to take a shower, wash your hair, and wear clean clothes to work. Filthy smelly clothes, dirty nails (that he touches your food with), nasty dirty hair, in a kitchen is unacceptable. When I asked Michael if they wear gloves, he replied "we should". I later spoke to the store director Brandon, who asked "what did he touch after"? IMHO it doesn't matter, he should be wearing gloves, washing his hands frequently, and changing his gloves.I worked at this AJ's through a temporary agency, after I finished my shift and arrived at home. I received a message from the agency making me aware AJs had given me a bad review and banned me from coming back to that location. Luckily, i had contacted the agency prior to speaking to Brandon about the unsanitary conditions and they knew this was retaliation. I would think Brandon would thank me for bringing this to his attention and address the issue. Instead, he chose to be very unprofessional and immature.I don't know how they pass any inspections. Just filthy.FYI, Chandler location is also disgusting.

Its a nice clean place. Good for quick things, although expensive. Has speciality items, nice for gift giving. If you need something fast and are not near a larger supermarket, this works.

Bought bananas. Twice as much as Safeway. I don't know why people buy regular groceries here. Great specialty selection, I'm sure. Not for me. Others love it.

Amazing iced tea and pastries. Super cute area you can sit and relax at. Groceries a bit expensive but convenient
