If I could leave 0 stars, I would! Do NOT rent from this company. I received a letter in the mail dated weeks after returning our rental indicating a $450 cleaning fee would be charged to my credit card. The car was returned in the exact same state as when it was picked up. If you Google "Avis $450 cleaning fee" you will see how much of a scam it is to rent from Avis. Not only is this fee extremely offensive, but the car was rented out to other people from the time we dropped it off to the time the letter was dated and the charge was billed to my credit card. Be sure to avoid this car rental company at all costs!!

They use a 3rd party company to advertise and get business but when you go to location after booking through 3rd party… they don’t have the vehicle you booked for then they try and tell you it’s on you , the consumer, to be aware of this and they try and sell you a more costly vehicle. If a company does not have the vehicle that they pay 3rd company to advertise for… then it not the customer’s fault… the company should correct that with the 3rd party company they use to advertise for and they should certainly not try to charge more to the customer for an upgraded vehicle!

Avis quoted the cost $42 to drop off two hours late ; changed the price to over $150 when I tried to change drop off time a few hours later .. refused to honor their staff members quote …, outrageous, dishonest customer service ( and I’m a 20 year Avis customer , they just lost )

Price was competitive, car was ready and clean when I arrived. Both pick up and return were very easy and quick. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Very good value for money. However, prepaid for a gps/sat nav when booking online. When we arrived at pick up, they had none available. Advised they could not give us a refund at the office. Due to the fact we were in USA it took ages to contact customer services. Customer services told me that they do not generally refund for added extras, but were happy to do so on this occasion. They advised not to add extras online even though offers were made available to do exactly that !!

Made a reservation for a midsize. get to the counter to pick it up and Im told , "sorry we dont have the vehicle you reserved. You will have to pay for an upgrade." Now, I get if the class I reserved isnt available, but why should I have to pay more money for your screw up. I was forced to "upgrade" or be left stranded. The "upgrade" was a beat to hell, dirty, 50,000 mile suburu.......Slimy business practices to say the least.

***Inexplicably, one CANNOT drop off a car and close out the rental using the Avis app. Even if Avis Preferred. No sense at all, inconvenient and customer-hostile.And although Avis Preferred for decades and this is a convenient location near KSDL airport, I will not use Avis in Scottsdale or this location again. Repeated episodes of limited customer service and a run-down looking office make me leery of returning a vehicle after hours. The Avis / Budget office could use some serious attention to clean it up and make it look like a professional business.There are NO return envelopes at for the beaten up, filthy drop box. The very least they could do is keep a supply of return envelopes stocked.Perhaps the most significant reason for not using this location is that when I have an early flight and drop a car prior to office hours, I am completely at risk and responsible for any damage that may occur to the car before the office opens. Given the sketchy-looking office and surrounding environment, it is a risk I've decided not to take in the future.

I did rented a car on Nov 8 and returned on 15 we dropped the key in the box and the next day on 16 called and talked to owner John an he said everything is fine and no extra charge and you get the statement by email which never got one but today I check my statements from visa and motive got charged $800 excessive the called and find out for 100 miles the charged for 40000 miles which is ridiculous and waiting for head office to respond. As a Canadian tourist it’s so outrageous and scam. Waiting to see the outcome
