I’ve been a Bank of the West customer for many years. And had several issues with the recent conversion to BMO. I luckily have two BMO branches near my house, but this is the the branch I go to for issues. They pick up the phone, which is rare for brick and mortar bank branches. I had a Bank of the West RV loan and a late fee added, but after conversion I didn’t know if it was a valid fee, as I enroll in autopay. And after several frustrating hours with the general customer support line and the loan servicing department, they directed me to seek help from a branch as they can’t look beyond or before September conversion. Seemed odd to me, so I called just to make sure it wasn’t due to laziness of remote call center staff. Brima picked up the phone and I detailed my issue. He took notes and stated he was going to research the issue. I figure, like most branches, it might be “lip service”, where it would require me to go onsite. Well come to my surprise he did follow-up on the issue and resolved it in a timely manner. Saved me a trip and hours of needless effort. It’s rare to have someone actually follow through. And IMHO anyone who does nowadays should be properly recognized. Thanks Brima and also to the person who hired and trained him on how to provide great customer service. You restored my faith into BMO.

This place is a scam! My husband opened an account with them. Got his money deposited. He went to pay rent and get a cashier's check. They charged him for 2 but he only received 1 and they aren't doing anything about it. They loss $800 of his money! We got the check on a Friday and Columbus day was on Monday so we had no money all weekend! It's absurd

I don't understand the low stars..... I've never had anything but good service at this branch. Maybe a little slow at times, but it's a bank.... nothing is quick.

The WORST customer service I have ever experienced. After the post office losing a cashiers check of extreme urgency, i attempted several different avenues to cancel and replace the check to the same merchant, I was told by the Branch Manager, Joe, it can only be reissued by paying $180 to a 3rd party lender. After asking to speak to someone higher then him in the corporation, he refused to give me any contact information. Verbally stated and confirmed on the phone he refuses to give me any additional contact information because there is nothing anyone can do. This was after a conversation with BMO harris customer service telling me the branch can assist with this. Upon calling into the branch, it took 4 phone calls and a 45 minute wait along with a transfer back to corporate customer service before they transferred me back to the branch just to have the opportunity to state my issue. The gross lack of customer service and especially empathy for a customers situation is beyond concerning and I am regretful to have ever dealt with this particular branch, the reviews speak for themselves. I have a cashiers check lost in the world, the money no longer in my bank account and BMO Harris refusing to assist with this situation unless i pay them. DO NOT TRUST YOUR MONEY TO THESE PEOPLE. I will be closing my account with them in the VERY near future.

I have been trying to talk to a loan officer today. I follow the directions to talk to someone and when I push the appropriate number it keeps sending me back to the beginning of the recorded voice starting all over again. I currently have a HELOC account with them that we’ve had for a long time. We just want to increase the amount to remodel our house. We can’t get through to anyone. It’s maddening!! Please can you help with this!!

Don’t really agree with the low review score from this one, have been banking with them for years now and have been nothing but accommodating, helped me in situations where most bigger banks would’ve simply checked corporate policy and denied assistance (would’ve = actually have). Quality ppl in my book.

BEWARE ! BMO is one of the worlds worst banks not only on a local level but on a corporate level,to them their customers are just some meanness number.The original Harris bank out of Chicago was okay but then this miserable BMO out of Montreal Canada merged with or bought them out ! I had sizeable checking and savings accounts, even CDs yet they still acted like they were doing me a favor babying sitting my money ! Twice they failed to mail me my credit card bill and when I didn´t pay it on time they fined me $29 each time,I called up asking them where is my bill.The first gal sounded like she was 16 years old, she told me to take it up with the post office !!! The second one defied rational description she was the THE RUDEST women on the planet ,she acted like she was working for some third rate debt collection company, she kept interrupting me in an aggressive fashion,I filled a complaint against this women,I hope they fired her, truly shocking behavior for a bank employee !!!! As if that wasn't bad enough they lost a $500 cash deposit I made in the night depository ,it took them almost 7 weeks to put the money in my account !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had to go through two different bank officers to get that returned to my account,they took their sweet time returning my money ! I wished I could of fined them $29 for losing my money ! I had other issues but why go on ,look elsewhere. I opened an account with Desert Financial credit union ,they are super nice,they always treat you like gold.

Have been coming here for 7 years and the service is getting worse by the day! 6-7 people working … no tellers available to help you. The wait to get change is 30-40 min on average. Very poorly managed for customer service experience!

Beware of BMO offers for opening accounts. They misrepresent themselves and try not to give the money. I opened a personal checking account with them which i was supposed to get $350 to open a premier checking account. 1) I opened an account online and attached the promo code. Then when i talked to Sergio at the branch, he said that its better if i come in and they close that account and open a new one supposedly so that he can make sure the promo got linked. Well apparently when you close an account and open a new one it VOIDS the code. 2) I was instructed to make deposits into the account as a transfer. I did the required amount and I verified with Sergio again that they qualified as they came from a different bank. I was later told by BMO 90 days later that they did not qualify as they were not listed as "direct deposit" If I was told this in advance, I could have had my payroll go my account there.When I tried to address this with Joe the manager at the branch as well as Christopher in the marketing department (aggressive), they told me they couldn't do anything about it and basically discounted my endless handholding this opening of the account to make sure I complied. Also after numerous calls to the branch, being a new and devoted customer, depositing $40,000 in few accounts, apparently that means nothing to them nor did they give me any reason and attempt to keep me. I cannot work with an institution that is not straight forward. Apparently I am not the only one as their reviews on multiple platforms are very low. I will be closing all my accounts.
