Doug gave me a very fair price for a Alexandrite that despite its large size and GLA certification, I was having a relatively difficult time trying to sell. Doug was very thorough in his explanation of the piece, and we ultimately arrived at a price that made sense for both of us. Gemstones, even rare ones, are very challenging to sell, but I would recommend to anyone that has diamonds or rare stones to check out Doug.

As a collector and person in the jewelry business I meet a lot of estate jewelers, but Doug Leibman stands above for doing business but also for acts of genuine kindness and concern. On top of a great reputation in the industry with my peers, he has a good memory for opportunities that are important to me and for small helpful acts that go beyond what others in the business care to do. I have bought several pieces for myself and family members from Doug and he has helped me to sell when I needed to do so. It can be a tough business with a lot of emotions surrounding transactions and "letting go". Doug manages to be helpful with a tremendous amount of grace. That has earned him the business of many discerning professionals and patrons as I have seen first hand.

Mr Liebman was very polite and gave me many facts about jewelry, but after being given a valuation by a reputable jeweler, Mr Liebman gave a quarter of the dollar amount, a pawn shop offer, the other jeweler told me I should be able to get for my piece, from Mr Liebman. In my opinion he is just a pawnbroker hiding behind a big name.

After dealing with Mr. Liebman for a few years I find suddenly that his "regular' business practices & agreements no longer matter. Mr. Liebman did not follow thru with his multiple promises and left me hanging after backing out of a purchase agreement. Mr. Liebman also shared images and details of my collection with outside dealers without permission (in fact, against original directions/agreement). Eventually had to involve my attorney here in Phoenix. I'm sure DL will dispute but any party can feel free to contact me directly to confirm. David Sheflin
