Jim was awesome! He was attentive, professional, funny and just an all around great server. The female manager was terrible from the first observation of her grabbing the lighter from the front desk and telling the hostess that the candles weren't lit as she rolled her eyes. During dinner I was privileged to hear her in the kitchen telling the employees that she wanted 5 trays of glasses at all times in a rude tone where patrons could hear. Still, our experience was great because of the front staff and Jim. During dessert it was the last straw. Four young women walked in and apparently this was the managers daughter and her daughter's friends. The manager came out and started spending time with the girls. This is not a Dennys and if I was a manger on the clock I would never have my young daughter and her friends come to Ruth Chris if I was on the clock. The ambience of the remainder of our stay was much louder with the managers daughter and friends in the main dining room. I asked the hostess who the manager was and she said “Betsy.” Word spread fast and Betsy came to our table to make sure all was ok with dinner. Dinner was great. Management was not!

Great experience. Our server was fantastic. He went above and beyond by giving us 3 free desserts! Everything we ordered was delicious and service was very efficient. We were in and out in an hour on a Friday evening.

Thank you, Adam for the great service. Very attentive. The food was amazing! This restaurant gets temperature right. Like your steak sizzling? It is consistently hot (and delicious) when it arrives. That's one reason we keep coming back. Make sure to get the spicy shrimp appetizer. Wow!

We celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary at RC. We were first timers, but not new to an upscale dining atmosphere. The steaks were basic - salt and pepper, broiled at ultra high heat and served on a sizzling hot plate. I ordered my steak medium and it was well done. While the steak had good flavor, it was dry due to being over cooked. My husband ordered his steak medium as well, and his had spots that were close to rare. Lobster tail was also over cooked and tough. The caesar salad was delicious and served in a chilled bowl. Lobster bisque was just OK - definitely not the best I've had. The bread pudding was 10/10 - best thing on the menu! Our server was kind, but the level of service for the price point was severely lacking. The seating was too crowded and my husband's chair was bumped by every person passing by. Our bill for two was $200 with no alcohol and complimentary dessert. We will choose another establishment over RC in the future.

Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable! Everything we ordered was excellent flavor and perfect temps!! We sat in a dining room/mtg room which had very little ambience for a high class restaurant. That definitely distracted from our evening!

I was given the wrong filet, size and overcooked - I did not say anything as it takes too long to replace. Our server was very efficient except for forgetting my glass of wine with dinner - he did take care of it on the check. Otherwise, crab cakes, asparagus and creme brûlée was excellent. The do make their potatoes au gratin different than they used to, I preferred the potato slices and having the cheese broiled on top. Ruth's is one of our favorite special occasion/travel dining destination, so we will alway return.

Overall we had a lovely evening celebrating my Leap Year birthday. The only complaint I have is that it took almost 25 minutes to get a martini. Fortunately our server, Sherese, was AMAZING at everything and was polite enough to let us know that the bar was backed up. I don't thing we've ever waited that long anywhere to get a drink. I was surprised that at least one of our martinis was not removed from our bill; thought Ruth's Chris was a little classier than that. We will continue to dine at RC, as it is our favorite of all the steakhouses in Scottsdale. We have also asked that Sherese be our server in the future... to say she is outstanding is an understatement. Such a sweet, professional, knowledgeable, beautiful young woman. Having Sherese as our server was the cherry on the ice-cream sundae... she made the entire evening lovely and memorable.

The staff was disorganized. We saw people wait a while for a waiter to get to their table. We waited a bit and we waited forever for our first drink. There seemed to be enough staff. But no one was actually doing the right thing. It would be a while before I would go back.

We will not be going back. The service and personnel were wonderful, exactly what you would hope for at a top tier restaurant. My reasons for never returning are: 1. For the price, the main dishes are very well prepared, but very small. 2. The quality of the side dishes. They are as follows: a. Creamed spinach. This dish is mediocre, the spinach is over cooked, I have the strong impression they make a large batch each day and keep it warm and then scoop from it. Nothing like fresh spinach sauteed in butter with a little fresh garlic, some onion and maybe lemon, etc. b. Mashed potatoes. This dish is also very lacking in quality. The potatoes are grainy, not smooth and creamy, they are very liquid, not fluffy, they need butter and half & half with a hint of garlic, instead they are more watery than creamy, they lack body and flavor and your $15 dish is about 1 cup, a very small portion. c. Sweet Potatoes. This dish is also very lacking! Instead of a bright orange freshly baked sweet potato with butter, salt & pepper, you have a pre-cooked yam, mixed with brown sugar and cinnamon pre-made mash that is then slapped into a flat over dish and sprinkled with crumbled topping made with more brown sugar and baked. it come out an old brown color, and is so sweet, instead of a fresh delicious vegetable with texture, you are eating a pureed, old baked concoction that is more a sweat potato pie dessert, but certainly not a FRESH vegetable. d. Grilled/sauteed asparagus. This is their best side dish and is the only one that is done quite well. it is slightly grilled, then sautéed with a very little butter and served with a hollandaise sauce that is pretty good, but not great. They could do it a little better by using more butter to sauté, and learn from the Italians, to take a vegetable peeler and remove the stringy skin from the lower half of the stem. This would make it a very well done side. The desserts were very good. there are better restaurants for the price

Normally Ruth's Chris Steak House is dependably excellent. Maybe we were there on an off night. Our waiter interrupted our conversation every time he came to our table. We had the Prix Fixe dinner, ordering filets (I described what I wanted as “pink from top to bottom” since what is medium rare can vary between steak houses) with shrimp and mashed potatoes. Our filets all arrived grey, one with barely a hint of pink at the very center. I'd describe them as between medium and well done. The four shrimp were small and unremarkable. The mashed potatoes were so puréed they could be drunk through a straw. It was a VERY disappointing meal. As I said, maybe it was an off night.

I would not make a reservation for 4 when they just open. It took several minutes for the hostess to get everyone checked in and then we waited 10 minutes before we were seated. With the waiter having 4 tables all seated at the same time it took longer to get service

The filet mignon tasted great!! I was a little disappointed that the creamed spinach was not as tasty as Taiwanese...The waiter kept bringing the wrong dishes, but I was quite happy to finally get a birthday cake.Very satisfied with the dessert!!

Server was excellent. Sea Bass half cooked, Ribeye was tuff both baked potatoes were cold & promptly replaced and then were excellent. Caesar salad excellent. Complimentary cheese cake Dessert for anniversary was excellent.. M y wife and I were dressed for the occasion, at the reception desk was a dress code post, the folks that were there were often in R shirts and shirts, like the beach or some other very casual restaurant. We had a 200.00 gift certificate and added 125.00 to Kay the bill including a 20% tip. The table was nice with happy anniversary sprinkled on the table along with personalized menu's. We were really disappointed.

Emiliano, our waiter, was amazing. His service was impeccable and we never needed anything before he was asking us about our needs. The food was great and the steaks were cooked to perfection.

I have been dining at this restaurant for over 30 years and I must qualify my review with the fact that this is the first time that I have left feeling underwhelmed. The food was, as ever excellent, but the service was poor - again, this is something I have never said in all my years dining there. I ordered an old fashioned that took about 15 minutes to come. There is normally warm bread shortly after arrival, but that only came after my starter and after I had asked for it. When I made the booking on the Ruth's Chris website, I stated (in the requests box) that I would like a portion of lyonnaise potatoes). When I arrived I was told that such requests have to be made over the telephone....silly old non-telepathic me! As it was, the kitchen did manage to make me some and I was grateful for that. My glass of red wine (which cost me $42) arrived about 15 minutes after my steak. When I said that it should have been earlier, my server (Greg) said that he "never knew what was the appropriate time to bring the wine". I'm sure that all the staff at Ruth's Chris know that half way through the main course is not the appropriate time to bring a glass of red wine to the table, so I assume he just forgot. It was all so disappointing, especially after my previous meal there in December was one of the best I have ever had. I won't let this experience put me off and the food is always exceptional, but the service (from the booking request to the meal) was not what I have come to expect from this excellent restaurant.
