This store simply sucks. Worst in the valley. I called to speak with a manager to help me out. The phong was ringing for 14 mins and nobody ever picked up the call. The rotation of voice to select a number came up 6 times! And nobody was there? At 3:15 on a Wednesday! I can't wait to transfer my pharmacy prescription to the Safeway on camelback. Do not go to the Scottsdale store. What was the issue you may ask? I was calling to talk about the fact I couldn't find a price for an item on the shelf, the guy at the register was clueless...as dumb and dumber ! This store needs better customer service clerk, trained register clerk, and present management. They are obviously on a smoke break in the back, if nobody is at the counter to pick up a call for over 14 mins

Covered parking!! A very appreciated feature in the sunny desert climate. The employees are helpful and friendly, the sale prices have consistently been beating Fry's Grocery over the last year (It's closest competitor for value grocery shopping) The store was really starting to show it's age. However, the store just finished a remodel in January 2024. They could have made it more upscale decor during the remodel considering its location in the heart of Scottsdale. But, the store is always clean and bright. My favorite Safeway Signature brand item is their salted caramel ice cream. Often on sale and always delicious.

My rating is for the remodel. Yes the store is more visually appealing. However, what the heck would you cut back on the cashier driven checkouts. There are now only 5. Lots of self check though. What what the thought process behind that especially when the majority of your customers are senior and technically challenged?

An update to my last review. After a remodel the store seemed in much better shape than visits earlier this year. There were more checkstands available and someone to help bag groceries. Staff were friendly but this is a busy store and they still seem understaffed. Most people don't want to use self check out so lines are still long but overall better than my last review. Again, I worked for Albertsons for years and our standards were very high especially when it came to the front end. Good to know I can use this store again since it's close to home.

PAULA who works at the registers was very rude. I came to check out and wanted to split my order. So I went to grab another lane divider, which she snatched from my hands asking me "you already have one!". I asked to speak to a manager which she then refused additionally cursing at me. When I asked another employee (guy with short blonde hair) all he did was laugh and ignored my request. What a way to run a business, given the 3 stars it already has.

This grocery store consistently fails to keep the wellsfargo ATM full of cash. The atm went three weeks without cash between November -December 2023! Today I discovered they do not sell Hanukkah greeting cards, or Hanukkah anything. Their staff seem to only care about wearing defenseless face masks improperly as they mock customers.

This has been my store for 20 years or so. The remodeling has messed everything up. Plus they no longer carry many of the items I used to buy.

This pharmacy is literally unreachable. They never answer the phones during business hours and their online app doesn't work (staff is aware of this too), so your only shot at getting in touch with them is going in person, which is really inconvenient, especially when you get there only to find out your prescription isn't ready. The pharmacy staff unfortunately has no sense of urgency so there's always a long wait to pick up prescriptions. This is the most dysfunctional pharmacy I've ever seen and sadly I'll have to move my prescriptions elsewhere.

I like how you "reach out" by telling me to contact you. I can't submit a request on your website. If you really cared about customer service, you would provide your information to me so it's easy to contact you. Not having to chase you down. The comment is all for show.

Very bizarre staff in the pharmacy . They are very socially awkward , short rude answers with any questions you might have over medication. They have been like this for awhile now & so glad to get rid of them . They do not answer their phone for doctors to call back . NONE of the employees at the pharmacy should be in customer service .. they should never be around any people . It's very bad ! Stay away if you can . You will be extra stressed .

I was shocked to find this hidden gem at Safeway! A full sushi roll platter with 5 full rolls at an incredible price too. It's great to see the sushi chef hand making these so you know it's not sitting there from the day before. If you need your sushi fix, this a great find

Racist staff and the worst experience at a pharmacy I have ever had. I cried on my way out the store due to how poorly I was treated, they made me wait an hour for my fill, even though they had all morning to do it, I waited HOURS after my doc called it in to be considerate. I mean I came in in the afternoon and had to wait and hour just to be told they couldn't do anything about it. I was promised I would get a call when it was ready. I called an hour before the pharmacy closed because NO ONE CALLED ME. And I was told it was ready. When I voiced my experience to the man on the phone I was dismissed, he scoffed everything I said off, I didn't even get an apology. Maybe if I was white I would've gotten treated differently because guess what?? I was the only minority waiting. Everyone else was ready. Never go here, they like their patients to stay white based. Never going here again. 0/10

My family and I have been happily shopping at this Safeway for over 15 years. Unfortunately, I no longer feel safe or comfortable shopping at this location after the discrimination and poor customer service I was meet with after today's visit. In attempting to purchase a birthday card, a gift card, and a bottle of wine, a cashier by the name of Donna Jean intensively interrogated me, accused me of potential identify fraud, threatened me with police action, publicly patronized and humiliated me, and demanded I confirm my identity to make a purchase. No else at this store was treated in this manner and after speaking with the manager, they also agreed that the employee had acted inappropriately.
