After not being able to get a prescription for 3 days at a different pharmacy, Safeway filled it in 1 hour and even looked up a coupon code for me to try and reduce the cost. They went above and beyond with their customer service.

Horrible management. I forgot to grab my $20.00 cash back when I did self check out. I called the manager after I had left, and Matt was LESS THAN HELPFUL. I didn't expect anyone to turn it in, but I did expect better customer service. My gosh... do these people even care about customer service anymore. Matt acted to busy and could have given zero F's. Safeway has gone downhill with their management since joining with Albertsons. Bad experiences at the Chaparral Safeway as well, they NEVER have anything in stock. Does this company even care anymore?! Clearly not.

Just experienced the worst customer service at self checkout at the Thompson Peake/Pima location. I was weighing apples and for no apparent reason the light started flashing and I couldn't proceed without help. Even if it was something that I did which caused the problem, I needed an employee's help to continue. The gentleman that came over was put-out by having to come over, was very rude and attempted to belittle me. I responded that the customer service was pretty horrible and the fella next to me piped up loudly agreeing with me. This location needs some inservice hours on how to treat their customers.

I have been in this store twice in past week. In stock position is awful. They appear to be in the third week of a going out of business sale. I do not recommend you shop here, you won't find a lot of what's on your list.

Let's face it, grocery pick up is awful everywhere, Safeway is no exception. I've been shopping here since they opened and every day stuff is fine - they are the blah blah of grocery shopping. I only tried pickup because my entire family was sick and Walmart kept cancelling one of our items. When my order was ready I went over, called their magic number and got three beeps stating the VM wasn't set up. I waited a minute and called back. This time it rang a while until I got the same 3 beeps. There were 3 other cars parked in the pick up spots so I figured they were helping other people. The guy next to me decided to get his own stuff so off he went. The Safeway pickup guy brought groceries to another can and right afterwards he came over to our car and asked "are you customers" - I'm not sure who else sits in their number spots making phone calls but I didn't press the issue and just said I was a customer and he asked for my last name. The third car was empty, probably someone sticking it to the man for telling him where he can and can't park. Fifteen minutes later, after no sight of Mr Safeway, I tried calling g again - and again there was no answer. I was leaving my car when I saw him walking over. At this point there where 2 other cars who had shown up after me. I opened my hatch and was floored when he stared unloading groceries in someone else's car. How did he even know they were there? Did he answer their phone? Do they have a secret number? Maybe they are related to each other? I'm sick, my family of 7 is also sick. It's mild but it is C-19. I haven't slept well is a while and I feel like I've been in a car crash. I just want to get my stuff and go back to bed. I would have done delivery but I haven't figured that out with Safeway and heavy items in the delivery orders end up getting cancelled. This should have been really easy. How long does it take to put the groceries you have already collected into a cart and take them to my car - and do it in a way that doesn't expose anyone to my C-19ness. All this to say that I've have prouder moments. But after no one answering then phone and the guy dropping groceries into someone else's car, my pounding headache-ridden head explained. "Wait, where the heck are my groceries?" He asks, "Are you waiting?" AM I WAITING? WHAT ELSE WOULD I BE DOING? When he was done he came to my window - which I kept closed - and asked my name, again. He told me I didn't need to tell and I felt like telling him he didn't need to answer his phone. Or you can answer your phone and I won't have to yell. How about just getting my groceries? Hey Safeway, get this program fixed or pack it up and give us the parking spaces back. Up until today shopping with you was a solid 3 star experience. Today you showed how much you really don't care. Edit: the Safeway pharmacy is 5 stars, 6 if Yelp allowed it. The pharmacy team is in the business of helping people and they get their part right and shouldn't be included with these knuckleheads. On a side note, I've enjoyed pondering what else I would have been doing parked in spot #6 if I was NOT a customer.

Don't count on Safeway delivery. I placed an order online for delivery today because I am temporarily disabled from surgery. The delivery window was from 5:00 to 9:00. I had a visitor at my house from 5:00 to just about 9:00. I was wondering about the status of the delivery as my guest was leaving when we noticed a few bags left outside my house. The delivery person didn't even ring the doorbell. We know this because we were in the living room that faces the front door, and we tested the doorbell. It works, it is loud and we would have noticed. I said to my guest that I needed to get the frozen items in the freezer immediately, but then noticed that the order was missing many items, including one item that I ordered for the guest. What was the delivery person thinking? I called the store's customer service line, andthe guy said he knew there was a problem with my order, but couldn't do anything. I asked about at least refunding my payment for items not delivered. He just told me to call back tomorrow. I told him I found it strange that the delivery person left a bottle of liquor outside without getting ID, but didn't ring the doorbell and didn't leave meat, vegetable, frozen or flower items. He acted surprised. Safeway delivered some vegetable and fruit items, but not others. I went online, but Safeway's online customer support is only a super-frustrating chat function seemingly designed to prevent any meaningful customer service. I then called the customer service line. It said I had a thirteen minute wait. I waited about twenty five minutes before hanging up. P.S. This is not the first time that Safeway screwed up the delivery. Last time they delivered a couple of incorrect items, but I did not care.

Purposly went to Safeway (I shop at Jewel in Chicago) at 9:00pm on Saturday to avoid crowds. Place was empty, not only of people but they were out of several things I went for...gallon of whole milk, blueberries...This was frustrating but I get it with Covid and all. I get all of my shopping done ($70 worth) and head up to the registers at 9:40pm and there were no cashiers. Self check out was the only option! What? So I started raking the scannable items out, scanned, then put items in bag. Machine started telling me to put items in bag, then remove items. My cart was full of groceries so there was nowhere to put bagged groceries. Employee "Tighe" was nearby but busy on a device. After 10 minutes of the BS I asked "Tighe" for assistance. He was less then accommodating and I was clearly putting him out. I wanted to walk away from the cart and leave everything but couldn't bring myself to do it. He instructed me to go to cash wrap 2 and finished checking me out. SAFEWAY MANAGEMENT: I am not qualified to be a checker. I don't know the computer program, or produce numbers, or how to bag. Never have I seen self checkout as an only option. In the scheme of things, this is all no big deal. However, if you're wondering why numbers might be down, don't overlook the lack of customer service. I won't be back.

I went here yesterday for my Thanksgiving grocery list because I had been to nearby grocery stores and a few of the things I needed were gone! Which was very upsetting But Safeway has a lot more holiday choices!! Because 3 days before Thanksgiving is last minute. There was a great selection of turkeys, hams, sides, desserts& holiday plants and flowers! That was yesterday I can't speak for today!

We were there and checked out around 9 am. Checkout was awe-full! There was only one register with a person and there was a long line so we tried self checkout. There was not enough room for checkout and the person there was not helpful and only explained that we had to keep our stuff on the designated area. I mentioned they should have more registers either people open and he said it is not his problem. Many of the items were fresh produce so didn't have a bar code.During this time there is no reason to be short staffed as there are plenty of people looking for a job. If stores like Safeway want us to be there employees and check ourselves out then they should make it easier for us to do so. Very disappointed and will avoid Safeway as much as possible. If I want poor customer service I might as well go to Walmart and get everything cheaper.

Not one employee will even acknowledge you let alone ask if you need help. The APE in the deli is incredibly rude and frankly a little off in his head. I will drive miles out of my way to not go in this Safeway!

Everyone here tries to be as helpful as they can, especially in these difficult times and that means a lot. All i can say is THANK YOU for all you do.
