I've been going here since they opened and Dr. McMullin has been the best eye doc I've ever had. I have a complicated prescription and all the tech and care makes me feel like it is being managed the best it possibly could be.

I had a great experience here yesterday. The staff was kind and helpful. Dr. Madera did a thorough exam and was knowledgeable. The employee who helped me pick frames was just wonderful. She listened to what I wanted, didn't want, understood my style preferences and brought me the cutest frames. I'm looking forward to picking them up!

I got new insurance so needed to find a new eye doctor. I liked that this office had a lot of reviews and was conveniently located, so I texted their number to set up an appointment. I appreciated how easy it was to do that and I was able to schedule a checkup within a week and a half. I filled out my new patient paperwork ahead of time and when I arrived, I had to do a little more. I was called back promptly by the tech who did my initial eye tests. Dr McMullen was great and answered all my questions and addressed my concerns. He has a professional yet welcoming demeanor and I felt comfortable speaking with him. I got some trial contacts which so far have been working well, as well as some eye drops for contacts. Staff was helpful and friendly as well. I'm glad I came to this office and hope to continue my annual exams here!

I have seen Dr. McMullen for almost 5 years and I have nothing but praise for him and the staff. Dr. McMullen is always very kind, patient, and personable. I usually leave with a good joke or book recommendation, as well as an updated prescription for glasses and contacts. The staff there are always reliable and help me navigate the best options for my insurance plan. I have had to call for emergency appointments as well and the staff have always fit me in timely. I consider Dr. McMullen and his staff as a part of my family because of their level of care and professionalism.

Other places allow you to have your eye prescription on their patient portal. Three times, I have call to request my reader/ computer prescription and they alway say the have sent it. And every time I go to the patient portal for my eye prescription, it's always the progressive prescription with NO add to show my reader strength. Don't waste your time here. Oh! And they charge a $60 fee for another eye doctor to verify prescription. Never again!

Dr. McMullen is by far the best doctor (not just eye doctor, but doctor overall) I’ve ever been to.Obviously he’s great with eye care, but he’s awesome for several other reasons. He’s extremely personable, and you can tell he genuinely loves what he does. He cares deeply about his patients and somehow remembers even the smallest personal details from previous casual conversations, even with the number of people he sees on a daily basis.The front desk team is also great. They are always upbeat, and they go out of their way to accommodate everyone.Who ever thought going to the eye doctor would be a fun experience that you actually look forward to?! I will be a patient of Dr. McMullen’s for as long as he’ll have me!

I wish I could give a higher rating to this place! As always, my appointment here was great, smooth, and easy! Dr. McMullen is so great at his job. He's professional, kind, hilarious and always so upbeat. His staff is great and always so helpful. I've never ever had an experience where I felt rushed in and out or not cared about. This is a family run business and that love and care shows! If you're worried about C19, know that they're taking plenty of precautions to make sure that everyone feels safe while in office. Where you spend your money matters, and this place is definitely the best!

This was my first time at this office. The entire staff was helpful, and friendly, starting with the front desk as soon as I walked in the door. My appointment was timely but informational. I felt like I was taken care of but not rushed. Special shoutout to Felix, who helped me find my new pair of glasses. He was the cherry on top of such a wonderful experience! The office is also readily available through text, which is a huge plus with my busy schedule. I will definitely be continuing my eye care here.

I've been going to Dr. McMullen for my eyecare for about five years as of the date of this review. I highly recommend him. He is a great balance of being both personable and professional. I've had excellent experiences with his staff as well, so I am a client for as long as he continues to provide eyecare in the Valley.

My wife had a Lasic procedure done and Salt River Eye Care handled her follow up. Everything was going well, and several follow up appointments were scheduled all covered under the cost of the procedure. On her two most recent follow ups, it was determined that she was having an allergic reaction to something and medication was prescribed. Dr. McMullen decided that this changed the visits from a ‘lasic’ problem to a ‘medical’ problem and that the visits would then be charged to insurance. This change was NOT clearly explained to my wife who doesn’t work in the medical or insurance fields. She was not asked if her medical insurance had changed BEFORE the appointment (which it had, of course out of Network) and was then hit with a full out-of-network charge AFTER the last appointment. After speaking with the office manager Bianca S, I am infuriated that they are not even willing to compromise on an in network co-pay and are flat out saying that it is fully my wife’s responsibility to understand how their billing and insurance systems work and that it is ENTIRELY up to her to inform them of any insurance changes. In my experience, this is not how most competently run medical offices treat their patients. I have no issue with the medical care provided, but beware the Bait and Switch billing practices. There are plenty of other good Eye Care providers out there. Go somewhere else.

Dr. McMullen and his staff are incredible!!! They do an awesome job. His staff is courteous and pleasant.Dr. McMullen is personable, caring, listens and takes the time to explain in detail the health of your eye. He is the BEST! I would highly recommend him.

Staff is professional, friendly and very helpful. Dr. Mc Mullen is the man he explains the findings of your eye exam. I highly recommend Salt River Eye Care for your eye health care
