The good first... It's a beautiful, clean facility. The ladies answering the phone at the front desk are lovely and super caring with excellent communication and they call back promptly. The not good....The reason I cannot leave an excellent review overall is my concerns for what happens once the dog goes in the back examination room and a couple other events. My dog had an advanced stage of cancer. I paid for two visits in 2 weeks. The traveling there was very hard on her delicate state. After the first exam, she stopped eating within days, which she had not been. And after the second exam was over, they gave her back to me vomiting, which she had not been. Then she could not keep anything down at all and I had nothing on hand to control her pain at at home. The following morning, she died at home in extreme pain. The purpose of two visits were to discuss and plan for end of life Pain Management, as suffering was exactly what I was trying to prevent. I am upset that more should've been done to consider my remote location, and what else could've been given to me to have on hand for her inevitable situation. For simple things, I think these doctors can handle those quite well. But for a situation that is complicated, there was lack of careful thought and compassion and proper pain control planning in my case. I also think she was overdosed on antibiotic and her current weight did not get updated in her chart. The reason I think this is she had most symptoms of an overdose and was not treated for one, (didn't even cross their mind - sudden onset rash, drooling, gastric symptoms). I also compared a package of the same medicine prescribed by a prior vet and the dose was way lower. Also, the concerns about how she was handled in the back. So between all of the above, I'm upset, it's neglectful. I'm sorry, no way I can 5 star.

We have been using Oak Creek Animal Clinic for 9 years, first with our now elderly near-end-of life golden doodle Linus, and now also with a new golden doodle puppy. We have worked with 3 different vets there. Over many years, we've used vet clinics in Maryland, Florida and Maine. I can easily say that our experiences with Oak Creek have always been high quality in terms of vet knowledge and skills, and in their interpersonal behavior both with us and our dogs. Linus has had three emergencies requiring surgeries. They handled the two (one was a potentially deadly, bleeding anal tumor done on a Saturday) ) they have the capabilities for, quickly, competently and very humanely. They had to refer us to an orthopedic specialty vet in Flagstaff or Phoenix for the third surgery when Linus tore out his hip, but did so by describing the alternatives including capabilities and price differences to be expected. In all cases and on every other visit the vets went to great lengths to explain conditions, diagnoses, options, prognoses, etc etc. Desk staff and assistants have always been kind, gentle and helpful. Their prices are no more expensive than vets we've dealt with in the past. Having said that, everyone wishes medical care was less expensive. Have you checked out pet insurance? It's crazy expensive if you have a generally healthy dog. We recently started our new puppy's relationship with Oak Creek Small Animal. First checkup was great. Cost was $59.

Very disappointed in this clinic. We ended up at flagstaff at canyon pet hospital who took care of us because our dog Kida swallowed a bone. Oak creek claims to be an after hours clinic that is open to its clients but this is not true at least for our experience. I called explaining the emergency and the operator told me that they were closed and could not help us. Proceeded to tell me to call a random number up in flagstaff. Not having time to argue over the phone about what their answering machine states I called the number she provided. The number was a weird number and had a voicemail but did not sound like a vet clinic but instead a private number. They also never answered after I tried calling 3 times. I gave up and finally found someone who recommended Canyon Pet Hospital. Our dog Kida went into emergency surgery. Very disappointed in oak creek and I will be changing vet immediately. Please don't claim to be an after hours vet if you aren't going to be there to help.

I am so impressed and grateful to Dr. Page and the entire staff at the Oak Creek Small Animal Clinic! They were sensitive to my concerns, regarding my Chihuahua, and from the time I booked the appointment, to the day of my appointment, it was a pleasure. It's nerve wracking and frightening when your little 4 legged furry child is possibly not doing so good! I was so impressed with Silver, the Veterinarian Technician (essentially a nurse) who I spoke with once in the room, waiting for Dr. Page. He was kind, informative, professional and had a warmth about him. Dr. Page was also impressive! That day was a busy Sunday, with emergency visits, etc., so there is a lot of pressure there. Dr. Page was attentive, listened to my concerns, and had sound suggestions and options on how to go forward. He was professional, knowledgeable, and had a very good disposition, making it a comfort to talk with him about my little guy. I felt a sense of trust and felt like he cared, and took his work seriously. Dr. Page also called me to let me know the results of the lab work. I had missed that call, but heard the message he left. I called back, and left a message. He called me back the next day to discuss details of my Chihuahua's situation. Grateful and thankful for the great care my Chihuahua received, and how fantastic Deb and Christine were at the front desk. This is top notch customer service from people who obviously care. It is heartfully appreciated. The facility is clean, and well thought out! It has a warmth and a detail to it that reflects people that truly care about animals, and who go the extra mile to get that conveyed in the environment and design of the place, inside and out. And, gratefully, the news for my little guy was good news, I feel so grateful to this place and the wonderful staff! Thank you Oak Creek Small Animal Clinic!!!!! :)))))))

Dealing with pets is not easy, even when it is your profession. Owners can be sensitive, pretend to know everything there is to know about animals, etc. so I do not envy having to deal with the human part of the veterinary services. With that being said, we have been going to Oak Creek Small Animal Clinic since November 2020 and have received nothing but excellent service from everyone including the owner herself. To date we have done a spay surgery (half the price of what we were quoted before we moved to the area), nail trims, liver treatments, and we have walked away happy, and more importantly our dog always ends up better. The facilities are new, the staff personable, the breakdown of costs easily explained; it's what you want in a clinic. If you are going to pretend and be Cesar Milan, save yourself the money and just treat your pet yourself. If you respect medical professionals and care to get treatment, this is your place!

Very highly recommend Oak Creek Small Animal Clinic.....they are a team that sincerely cares about you and your pet. We had an extraordinary experience there! They were very sensitive and supportive in making a very difficult decision but as I reflect back it was the right one. Their knowledge and consistent desire to provide high quality care will make them our go to for all care for our animals! The doctors even took the time after hours to personally address our questions by phone.

This staff deserves all of the years of awards. Dr. Kinney and Bernadette were SO kind during my 15+ year old, 90 lb. Chester's last hour. He died on June 15th in their clinic. He loved them and they treated him like family. Now I also entrust them with my new little Mickey and my 18 year old SweetPea kitty goes there also. Dr. Kress, Deb and everyone there is professional and caring. Thank you.

Seriously? This is Sedona's animal clinic? I'm appalled at the staffs ignorance and the way they treat people like sick patients. The amount of fear mongering going on here is enough for me to go elsewhere. People standing all over outside since you refuse to let people indoors. People like you might as well shut down before a suit happens.

This is for the owners of Oak Creek, i am looking for a vet as I'm new to Sedona and I cannot believe your response to Brenda S. As I business owner you should have taken the high road but yet you had to bring the George Floyd "I can't breathe" into it. Wow...I won't be coming to your vet. Very unprofessional. Get a grip.

Such a disappointing experience today. My dog tore a toe nail and I needed to get him on an antibiotic. My regular vet was overbooked so I called this place. They said they had an opening and to call when I got To the parking lot. (Covid). No one ever mentioned that I could not enter the building with my dog. Then they sent a vet tech out who had absolutely no empathy or personality let alone any knowledge on how to handle a dog. He wanted to drag my dog out of the car. I carried my dog to the front door and then he literally pulled him in. The Vet then called me on my cellphone and said they wanted to put my dog under and remove the nail and then they would bring him out. I said are you kidding me! NO YOURe NOT! I don't know you, never stepped foot in your building and so far this has been a terrible experience! I advised them to clean up the nail and prescribe an antibiotic and send the dog back to me. This place is only in it for one thing....Money! They do not care about your dog! Don't go there! What an absurd liar this person is. They did treat my dog while I sat in the car. I asked them to clean up the nail and prescribe an antibiotic, which they did. The nail healed perfectly and never required removal. Just prof they lied and were only trying to get me for more money which is what they are known for. And to try to even add a liberal nasty narrative of " I can't breathe" just shows you what they are all about. Disgusting. Don't go there. There are several other options in the Sedona area that are great!!! Update: I appreciate your apology for your political comments, however I have no idea why you keep saying I wanted my dog to go through pain. I didn't want the nail removed and as a result it didn't need to be. And...please quit saying that I yelled profanities at you or your staff as I did not! Just please tell the truth.

Great clinic with extremely kind staff, willing to go above and beyond during this pandemic. We're very glad they've been able to help us take care of our fur baby!

It is with a heavy heart that I write this review. I have been taking my cats here for a decade. My older cat was put down here 4 years ago by Dr. Kinney. I had always had a good experience minus the bills (over priced compared to other local vets). Unfortunately, my last visit and follow up was terrible. I don't know where to begin. Dr. Kinney is not the compassionate, sweet on point doctor she used to be. Our visit before last, she kept calling my cat Blue which is the name of my cat she put down the time I saw her last. This time, her staff and she herself repeatedly called my cat by the wrong gender even after being corrected. I digress. From the moment we arrived, the vibe was off. Because of their policies right now, I was not allowed inside. I spoke with Kinney on the phone in the parking lot. She was combative right from the get go and I thought for a minute she might be irritated that I had seen another vet (my suspicions were later confirmed right out of the horse's mouth). I literally had tears in my eyes from her tone. She didn't say anything about my cat's teeth, coat or eyes...all things a routine exam covers (which is what I paid for and is normally discussed. She didn't have his forwarded records so she told me she would review them when she received them. I had to call to follow up. The answer I got back from the receptionist:she had nothing to say about the tests because they were from another office. Huh? It was clear that they wanted me to pay for another visit for the follow up. She said full panels are recommended every six months but later contradicted herself and said she wanted another panel now. Another reason for more money. I requested a call back from her directly. When she did call back, her greeting sounded again, hostile. And again, we were at odds. The other vet told me my cat's numbers were fine. Dr. Kinney said they weren't. When I asked, in despair, who I should believe that is when it came out: "Katie, that's what happens when you go between doctors" wow. The truth came out. I was clearly being punished for taking my cat to another vet. Mind you, I moved and that's why we switched vets but I thought Oak Creek was the better of the two and hence why I came back. Well, I was wrong. I am never going back.

Today my dog had an emergency accident, resulting in head trauma and panic!! Amid the Coronavirus, I wasn't sure where to go or who would be available. I rushed to the closest vet, Oak Creek Small Animal Clinic and they were as amazing as they could have been. Professional, kind and best of all, AFFORDABLE!! My dogs emergency treatment was actually affordable, something that I have not been able to find in Sedona. I knew the whole time she was in safe hands, and each person I spoke with was not only knowledgeable but compassionate. I will most definitely be using Oak Creek Small Animal Clinic as my primary vet and recommended anyone looking for a place to care after their animals as their own to do the same!! Thank you

I am giving only 1 star because I had to travel all the way from Sedona to the UC Davis Veterinary Center, arguably the best Veterinary center in the United States, to get a good diagnosis for my beloved 6 year old Boxer. He had become very low energy and wobly very suddenly. After being fine on October 1, very robust and energetic, by the 10th he had lost 10 pounds and was not walking well and had no interest in chasing his ball, his previously favorite everyday activity. After 2 days in the Oak Creek hospital and a $1500 bill, Lincoln was discharged with many expensive medications and a diagnosis of arthritis with some pancreatitis, which I self diagnosed from a previous bout with my dog. Well, arthritis does not appear suddenly and cause rapid weight loss. After he then lost all use of his rear legs and became incontinent, I brought him in to see Dr. Kress again, and said I thought my boy had maybe developed degenerative myolopathy. She offered nothing in terms of an alternative diagnosis, and I then traveled 3 days and 850 miles in my RV with Lincoln to the UC Davis emergency clinic. I went to school at Davis and knew how good their vet school and clinics are. Granted, Davis has many specialists not available at Oak Creek, but we were given a diagnosis confirmed at Davis to be without any justification. My Boxer was diagnosed with cancer in his spinal cord an by then was obviously in significant pain and discomfort. I had to let him go, one of my worst afternoons in my entirely life. At least I knew what his actual condition was, an inoperable terminal disease, and was not offered more useless drugs and treatments. I don't liked offering bad reviews, I am a positive person, but I feel that Oak Creek Small Animal Clinic really let me down during this very difficult time.
