Mexican food should celebrate the nuanced flavors and spices of Mexico. This was sanitized for gringo taste.A disappointment.

Delicious food but small portions for the price. Expect to pay about $20 a person. To give you an idea, a cheese crisp is $15. There is no kids menu. I thought it was ridiculous that you only get a small bowl of chips and salsa free. Seconds would be $6. We had a long wait for food, about 30 minutes so additional chips at no charge would have been nice.I live in Arizona and eat Mexican food regularly so I can't say this place stood out. However, for out of towers with little to no experience with the southwest or Mexican food it is a nice place.

Food was great. Service was great. Pricing was terrible. It’s not about how expensive it was it’s the fact that the nickel and dime everything. Typical Mexican restaurant dishes come with rice and beans and occasionally sour cream or guacamole but not here. 2 dollars each for rice and beans. Charges for refills on fountain sodas. For 2 dinner plates and a children’s quesadilla the size of my hand was over 80 dollars.

This is without a doubt the best authentic Mexican restaurant in the southwest. Great food, great service and the owner is always on hand to make sure everything is up to his high standards.

The steak in the fajita was very, very salty. Service started out ok but deteriorated. We assume it was because they were understaffed but not sure. The check arrived and we hadn’t been asked if we wanted another drink (I did) or offered dessert.

The Hostess did not seat parties in the order they arrived. She skipped over people with 2 in their party in order to seat 4 people. ??I know why but most places seat you, first come, first serve.

Exceptionally kind wait staff. Ordered a tostada salad: beans were only a smear on the bottom, less than an eighth of an inch thick. When time to pay, there was a $5 up-charge for grilled chicken, which was actually processed chicken and unclear on the menu about the additional upcharge. They were kind enough to remove the extra $5 charge. The cheddar cheese came as a 4-in long, 1-in wide chunk, not shredded nor cut. Guacamole was prepackaged, tasteless and recognizable only by its color. Shredded lettuce was ample, quarter tomato chunk and dollop of sour cream all fresh. Anticipated real ingredients in adequate amounts for the $20 charge.

Chose Soto’s on recommendation of a shop keeper. Good choice. We were able to sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere and views of the Santa Ritas. Food was excellent and we enjoyed the margaritas and music from two wonderful mariachis. Portions of food were also generous. Did not spend much time inside but the atmosphere looked pleasant there as well. A little on the pricy side but not outrageous.

The food was mediocre, which is surprising for the area, the red sauce tasted like it possibly came from a can and the sopapillias were more like deep fried tortillas. But the cucumber michelada was something I have never experienced before and wished I had. That drink made it worth it. I will go back just for that michelada.
