I was fascinated by the archaeological dig area and the wonderful timeline of the Tubac area presidio and missions. The town is great for walking around and the trail between Tumacacori and Tubac is very nice. We will be back

I really enjoyed Tubac Presidio State Park. The self-guided tour was interesting. I found that the Historic Schoolhouse, archeological remains of the Presidio and the Rojas house were very some of the highlights for me. The museum is also very extensive.

You won't mistake this place for the Smithsonian but if you visit you will see what local volunteers did over the last few decades to bring alive the history of their town and the surrounding natural areas. It's a sweet and interesting multi-media indoor/outdoor museum that is worth at least an hour of your time. It's also a welcome break from the commercialism of the art and craft shops.

Such a great expirence! I wish I could remember the gentleman's name that got us started on our walk around, but he was super friendly and informative. Seeing the Presidio (or what's left od it. Was really cool, as well as the museum portion of the place. There is so much hystory there in one small place. I will say we all got a strange feeling going into the gallery. I'm not sure how to explain it. Either way, we'll be going back again.Restrooms: 2 large restrooms that were clean and taken care of.Picnic area: There were a few spots where picnic tables were set up as well as a grill area.

If you are looking for a great hike with no hills or rocks, this is it!Mostly in beautiful, shaded trees. About four miles from Tubac to the Mission, or eight-mile round trip, both ends are great places to visit.

Fantastic collection and display of items from this historical site. It takes a lot more time to see than I expected. Unfortunately, only a tiny bit is actually excavated, would like to see a lot more. Displays inside were quite nice and interesting. Well maintained.

Children love it, I've seen the outside grounds but have not toured the inside...yet! I usually walk to the middle of Tubac and explore the great shops. I love Shelbys for peaceful, relaxing dining outdoors but History is always cool in my book. A visual reminder and first rate way to learn.some of the townsfolk are kitschy as he'll too :)Playground: Yes, kids can surely playRestrooms: Very nicely donePicnic area: Yup, thought of everything you might need

23/01 Thoroughly enjoyed Tubac. We did learn a bit more history. We got to see a bit of how early settlers made life good. And good in a difficult place.

Wonderful exhibits and amazing artifacts from this part of the country. We learned a lot about the history of the area. The staff was very helpful not only with touring the museum but also "don't miss" places to visit while in Tubac.

Went with low expectations. Was pleasantly surprised. Lots of recent upgrades to the museum. Most comprehensive summary of the area's history. Engaging and interactive displays that the whole family enjoyed.

Very nice museum to visit. Looking at the uniforms and the heavy gear Spanish soldados de cuera(the leather soldiers) had to wear, it is no wonder the Comanches and the Apaches were able to wreak havoc with their raids. The paintings from Bill Ahrendt are also pretty amazing I have to say.

Well curated museum, many interesting artisan shops, and a very good Mexican restaurant with the best almost unusual salsa!
