I am so upset w Banfield pet insurance. I had to put my dog to sleep 2 weeks ago. I called today to cancel his insurance and I have to continue paying monthly insurance for my pet for 7 more months. What a blow! I was so mad I didn't think to cancel my other pets insurance but I'll be canceling that as well. This Banfield location is always backed up on calls and is hard to get appt during day because they do surgeries during daytime hours and appts after 4. I am done w Banfield. I'll call to cancel my other dogs insurance tomorrow. I'm too upset today.

Dr. Cherry is very good. However some of the counter staff are not up to speed with procedures. I made an appt for dental surgery then 2 days before that 1st appt I was called there was no surgery on that day. Made another appt and had to adjust care for my father. A little frustrating.

I’ll cut to the chase and just say that you always should double check what you’ve been told here. I’ve been taking my cat here for about a year and my experience has been overwhelmingly positive—with the exception of today’s appointment where I could’ve killed my cat.I was given flea and tick treatment and was instructed by a vet tech to put it in food or a treat. The prescription bottle it came in said “apply” so I was a bit suspicious, but when I asked more questions, they confirmed that we were talking about the same medication and confidently doubled down on their instructions. If I hadn’t checked the packaging inside the bottle and saw that it said “topical,” I would’ve poisoned my cat, either killing her or costing me a very expensive trip to the ER. The doctor was able to clear up the confusion when I called, and while they were very apologetic, they did imply that it was somehow my fault by saying, “Usually the autogenerated instructions are pretty self explanatory.” They were not self explanatory, which is why I asked and why I was told extremely irresponsible and incorrect information. It’s safe to say that I won’t be returning. It’s a shame because I really loved the staff.

- [ ] I am completely unsatisfied with the service I received from your clinic. I had a sick cat with a swollen throat and I had to pay $300 the day I brought her in. They wanted to run tests for feline aids and cancer even though they told me she was too more than likely too young for them. She was negative as suspected and I was then told we had to do more tests that would cost about the same and I had to refuse and reschedule as I didn’t have the money that day. I went in a few days later and they ran more tests in which her results again came back negative. The vet we had the first day was a stand in which they didn’t tell me until I met the second vet. I asked the vet from the first day if she knew what the symptoms might be and her response made me livid. She said “You know, it’s like hiding an egg and asking me to go find it, it could be anything.”Whatever that was supposed to mean. The first vet also told me that my cat had really bad gum disease. The second vet I had to ask to speak to because the clinic was going to send me home without even being able to speak to her, so I waited in a room for her to consult with me and I mentioned the gum disease and asked if that could have anything to do with that, in which she responded “I didn’t notice any gum disease.” When I told her the first vet said she did, she asked if I would like her to take another look and I said yes. She then sent her college trainee assistant back out to respond that yes she did have a bad tooth and that the antibiotic shot they gave her should bring the swelling down. I’m wondering why exactly did I pay $750 when vets aren’t even giving my cat a thorough inspection. I am more than upset that it took me nearly $800 to get an antibiotic shot when I believe that’s what we should have started with. I will never go back to this clinic again and I would never suggest anyone else to do so either.

Wish they had negative stars. Giving this place 1 star is not what I intended. Staff are rude. You cancel your Wellness plan and if you have any amount due, you can't mske any appointments. Kind of funny, I wanted to pay the balance due when I took my per in and thet said they couldn't take my payment there. They lie to your face. Poor business practice, my vet visit would've been over $300, and yet they chose to cancel my appointment due to my owing $79. I asked to see the manager and she was conveniently in surgery and I was offered to wait but she could've been in surgery for "hours." WTF Kind of excuse is that to avoid speaking to a customer. Are you guys now doing heart transplants on elephants.I had gone through all the proper channels in canceling my Wellness plan, and for some reason $79 is on collections. Well you didn't get my $300 and you're most definitely not getting my $79.There are plenty of cheaper and better vet's out there. I will never do business with this organization ever again. They don't give a f@#@ about animals. Just a typical business stuck in the cesspool of Corporate America!

I can't say it was the best experience I had there. Because it wasn't I ended paying waay too much and wasn't able to continue to take my puppy eventhough she needed to be seen. It was very expensive place. Make sure to get a full understanding of what plans you get enrolled.

Banfield is a SCAM. They coerce and trick their clients into signing up for a "wellness plan" where their credit card is charged monthly, and then make it IMPOSSIBLE to cancel the plan. They should all be ashamed for taking advantage of people's love for their pets. When a company asks for your credit card information before rendering services, BEWARE!In addition, they charge FAR more than other vets for routine procedures. They ripped me off for several hundred dollars, and I am making it my mission to warn others to not make the same mistake I did.

Went there with my cat. They put him on a specialized food for his kidneys which only made him sicker. The doctor did not get back to me on that day (Friday) so I had to wait a whole weekend with him as he got even more sick and skinny. Told her the situation and she insisted on me keeping him on the diet after everything. I told her there had to be other options because he wasn't getting better and then she rudely ended the call say there wasn't and that she had other animals to see. I rushed him to a different vet near the border called Nogales Vet Clinic. They put him on a ground meat diet. (She originally protested any food of that nature too). My cat is now healthy, fat and better than ever. He would be dead if I listened to her. Lousy place, would not going back there again.

I have been a member of Banfield care for 10 yrs. I have always been happy with the care my dog recieves. However as with everything we know, Covid changed it too. They do not call me to check on my dog or suggest care as they use to. I have to call them then wait weeks for an appt. They try to do drop off care which means you drop off your dog at 7 am and they sit in a cage til they can get around to them. Sometimes all day. I insist on in room appts and wait longer for such. The doctors and staff are all wonderful but I have cancelled my membership because I dont feel I get what I pay for anymore.

I had an okay experience here, but they are so NOT okay that they are not fond of pets, just dollars. My dog was seen for digestive issues and I was there with her, then she was still having the issue a couple weeks later. I called to have her seen with the new insurance they sold me the first day, and they would only see her if I dropped her off the entire day. I asked why because she stresses very bad if she is isolated from us, and they said the doctor did not want to take the time to interact or answer questions of the owner. She would sit in a crate all day surrounded by sick dogs until her five minutes come up and she is finally seen. No thanks and no thanks on useless insurance.

I made an appointment with one of the vets there. My dog was seen quickly and the vet came and gave me some suggestions about how to care for my dog. Very pleased!

AWFUL! Pet parents beware.Update: Last time I brought my dog here, after posting the initial critical review, she came back with weird breathing issues she's never had before. I'm not accusing them of purposefully mistreating her, but she has never experienced this issue before. We will NOT be using this location again and recommend the same for others. Also, they have no regard for your time. The last three visits, we've had to wait for 30-45 minutes to pick up our animals even though we scheduled the time for pick up. Last time, there were a handful of employees just sitting in the room behind reception joking and chatting away. They have no regard for customers time or needs.ORIGINAL: We've had our four pets on Banfield wellness plans for approximately 8 years and this is the most difficult location we've worked with. We've used offices all over the Phoenix valley and started using this location about 4-5 months ago due to location.Instead of online scheduling like other Banfield locations, they require a call to schedule appointments. Regardless of what time of day or day of the week I've called, the wait time averages 20-30 minutes. Also, the scheduling makes no sense. They say that the scheduling calendar opens up 3 months at a time but the receptionist advised me that they won't schedule more than 1 month in advance because they can't see the schedule.I was told by reception to call at the beginning of October to see if they had availability in November since they couldn't schedule November yet. She offered to put me on a waitlist but told me that call ins take priority over the waitlist, so even if I am on the list it'd be faster to call again...yet they couldn't give me a date to call back. She then said the schedule might actually open up next week but they never know because it's up to the practice manager and she is inconsistent.I really like the location of this office and the doctor and tech we've seen previously were pretty good. However, they need to figure out their scheduling and office staffing because pet parents shouldn't have to waste 2 hours or more of their time making calls and holding to schedule one appointment.
