I needed stitches so I came here and looking back on it I should have just used glue, they charged an exorbitant amount $2500 and wanted to stitch me in the waiting area. You are better off driving to Mexico if you need medical assistance.

Yesterday morning my husband and I visited UMC for a GI bleed he has and severely critical low red blood count. It took us all of 5 minutes from check in to being evaluated and given a room for medical treatment. Our nurse, Emily went above and beyond to assist in every way possible. She explained things, introduced the Resident to us, checked on test results, answered questions, and requested clarification from the gastrointestinal staff after they had left the room. He had blood work, a chest X-ray, and finally a transfusion to ramp up his blood count until scopes can be scheduled. Eric, another nurse came in later and provided further assistance. He too went above and beyond what we have experienced in a hospital setting. The Resident treating my husband brought him a sandwich when he was able to eat without interference with testing. Yes, the doctor brought him a sandwich! We are from a small town in SE AZ and traveled to Tucson because he could not get help locally. Thank you Emily, Eric and (forgot residents name) Resident. To all your staff, wishing you all a wonderful holiday season.

This was the only pharmacy that had in stock the heart medication we needed within six days of us running out. Our regular source for the medicine was out of stock for 30 days yet. We also checked with Walgreens, Walmart and the major grocery store chains that have pharmacies and none had the medicine we needed in stock It was a big relief to finally locate the medicine at Banner.

Run, don't walk, from Banner UMC ER Dept. This place is unsafe, unclean and is run like a 3rd world country hospital . They stack ER patients in the hallway of the busiest corridor of the hospital. Stretchers, trauma victims, police, fireman, EMT's, etc are flying down this hallway as ER patients are inches away. I saw trauma patients bleeding in their stretchers, doctors and nurses running around clueless and staff so unhappy with this situation they want to walk out. It was simply unbelievable that a major hospital could run their ER department in this manner. Never go to the Banner ER - ever - you will regret it.

This is supposed to be a great hospital but it's the worst! It's hit and miss depending on what team of doctors you get. . One doctor will tell you one thing and another will say something completely different. I've been battling cancer for 20 years and have seen many hospitals. I moved here in June of '23. The staff is overworked and the hospital can't keep up with the flow of patients. You will wait at least 24 hours for a room but this visit I waited over 30 hours in a cold and uncomfortable room. They just leave you for hours and if you request anything it seems to be a problem! And takes forever! I've had a few really great doctors but some really bad ones too. In a city this large I don't understand why they don't expand their facilities and choose better doctors. I came from back east where medical care is excellent. My doctors (back east) even told me not to expect this to be an easy transition. If you need Banner doctors you will wait up to three months or more. What a shame!

The experience with Banner Health has been a horrible struggle. Been to the ER multiple times due to my boyfriend having chronic pancreatitis and every time 6-12 hrs wait to get into ER and chances are when you get in you'll be sitting in the hallway in an uncomfortable chair even when you are in a lot of pain and a draining tube is attached to your left side connected to the pancreas. Then there's a doctor who charted statements with no proof and doctors forgetting to give the most important instruction which is to drain the tube 2x/ day and no follow up from them after surgery for 9 days. We have to practically email, call a few times and begged just to get a reply from the doctors. And this are just the few major things a lot more little things that should have been part of patient care but was just sorely missing. Overall they truly suck but sadly we don't have a choice they are the only one that have the equipment, facility and doctors that can handle pancreatic issues apparently. Right now we'll just have to pray no more acute pancreatic episode happens again so we don't have to deal with their incompetence all over again!!!

They had all my prescribed meds available in a timely manner. It was nice that when I was discharged from the hospital I was able to stop at the pharmacy on my way out and pick up my meds and go straight home.

The level of incompetence in the maternity area was off the charts. It ran the gamut from misdiagnosis, mishandling of patient care, rudeness and short staff. This was all evaluated by a pediatric nurse of over 20 years who had the misfortune of a loved one delivering there.

Great pharmacy. Profesional and always fill promptly. Parking to pick up is trickiest.

The pharmacy gave me someone else’s prescription. They offered to deliver the right medication but ended up delivering to someone else.

Brought loved one in for a stroke in Aug 2022. Facility was clean. Food was good. Staff were good but very busy. Sometimes felt like they had too many patients to care for us but I guess that's every hospital nowadays.

As are most hospitals, Banner is over populated with patients and under staffed. My husband has been in and out due to a motorcycle accident. Patient care is good but wait times can be very very long. Staff is nice and helpful. I wish hospitals made more efforts though regarding spouses, significant others, caretakers. I understand most visitations are short, but as a spouse spending a lot of time there it would nice to have better seating. I wanted to stay with my husband after surgery, but there was nothing, no way to do it. And those god awful chairs - you can only sit in them for so long.
