The branch manager Hannah Stone is completely ignorant about BMO's policy for the renewed 12 month CD rate and confidently provided totally uninformed guidance about automatically renewing a 12 month CD that had matured. During the consulation with her I had my suspicions, so I went home and called the BMO customer center, and it turned out I was right to be suspicious. In fact, one of the customer service representative also seemed unsure of the facts. Such ignorance is unexpected and unacceptable in such positions of responsibility, particularly in a branch manager. There was also some vagueness in the wording on the website of whether it is or isn't possible to have a zero balance in a checking account. Such lack of clarity and transparency engenders mistrust, and puts too much burden on the customer to have all the facts pertaining to a bank's policies.

I've been with them since 1981 along with all the name changes. I think BMO is a very solid bank. But customer service is not part of their business plan. Thumbs down.

The current manager seems to have a lack of experience of managing anything. I wanted to cash a check, and after he spent 10 minutes in his office ( don't know what he was doing) he re-appeared and said OK. But, the young man who works there is very smart, and he is the only reason I still use BMO. I was with Great Western in 1981, they went through at least 5 name changes, the last being M & I. And now BMO. I'd prefer if they didn't want to sell me different products every time I go there. Sharon is gone, she was outstanding.

I opened a checking account with Laura Young. I felt valued & appreciated. I was introduced to the Manager & he was nice. I recommend this Bank.

Lost my ID during a notary through the window. Story kept changing, excuse after excuse, I was never called back as the manager promised, No tech service to see if it was stuck in the machine, and no offer to help pay for a replacement. Needless to say I won't be banking here anymore.

I know this is less on the bank and more with the overarching company, but I opened a credit card through this bank and initially the card worked half the time and I had to get a new one, then when I hit the limit to get the intro offer I had to wait 2 months to see it. Well 2 months later my mother took a turn for the worst after the 3 month period and a plane ticket to visit refunded to my card. It is normal for this to affect the rewards so I called, first rep told me it would still go through and someone would call me back within 48 hours. Well that didnt happen so I called and the second rep said it wouldnt but said a manager would call me again... so I was left frustrated... The next day I was finally told it was actually denied. Terrible experience.

I have been with M&I/BMO Harris my whole life and wouldnt change it. We love Sharon and Florencio the manager. They've always been awesome.
