Note: We did not have to wait. Our car was available upon arrival at the Fast Break Counter. As to the vehicle, it was clean and new. Our rental had less than 3,000 miles on it. If you can get over the charging issues, the Ford Mustang Mach-E is great. It was big, very quiet, had a smooth ride with responsive gas and breaking. It had a big screen and all the electronic bells and whistles. I loved the heated seats for both the driver and passenger. We went with the manager's choice when booking because of the rate. We ended up getting a Ford Mustang Mach-E, a fully electric vehicle, with just a 50% charge! We were told they had no way to top it off at the airport and told to download two apps to help us find charging stations. The closest station to where we were staying was 20 minutes away. So the next day we took the car to Premium Outlets Electrify America. It took us about an hour to download the app, get the pump working, and charge the vehicle to 95%. Of course now the app charges my credit card a minimum amount that I have to request a refund for when I remove the app. On top of that, there was a problem at the pump and they charged me an extra $20 when I first started charging. A nice agent at their 800 number walked us through everything and said she notified billing of the error. Ten days later we received a full credit from EA. We cancelled a visit to friends that live closer to Phoenix because we didn't want to deal with charging the car again - from finding a station to the time it takes. So, no, we won't be using the manager's choice ever again at Budget. And I think Budget did the wrong thing by providing a car with a 50% charge.

I don't recommend.I picked up a car at 3/4 tank (gas) and returned it at 3/4 tank, and was charged almost $40 for not filling it.I was also charged a late fee of $20, after returning the car exactly when I initially said I would. So "$40/day turns into almost $400 for the weekend. I'd rather walk. Also, I reserved an SUV. I get there and they have none available.

The SUV was a complete disaster, damage (not just scratches) on all sides of the vehicle. The interior smelled like an ashtray and the brakes were bad, almost down to the floor and screeching. It appears they wash the car but let the water dry on it, therefore, the water marks are so bad you can't see through the windshield. After a long day of air travel, I had to have the car replaced. To have a car like this in their fleet is just bad management. I have rented from Budget in other locations with no problems. This location, in Tucson, AZ is the very bottom of the barrel in auto rental. I have used both Dollar and Alamo at this airport and never had this problem. Last time renting from Budget in any location.

Renting from Budget this past weekend was truly the most disappointing rental experience I've ever encountered. After booking a car months in advance for this weekend, I waited in line two hours (no exaggeration) until I was able to speak to the employee at the counter. The employees were not friendly nor in any rush to get the extremely long line of customers moving. Once out to my car, I found it was not clean and had something sticky all over the driver window and door. The center console was also not functioning, and there were no employees around to help. I'd urge you to rent with another company if traveling to Tucson.

First car I was given had over 65k miles on it and two very bald tires. An accident waiting to happen.Had to go all the way back to the airport to exchange after waiting on the phone for over an hour to get any kind of customer service. This delayed our planned trip and cause frustration and angst beyond belief. IDidn’t discover the bald tires until I got all the way home.Every agent was unkind, unfriendly and offered no apology for the faulty vehicle being offered up for rent! It was dangerous. They were obviously short staffed but honestly not my problem.I wasn’t offered any compensation for my wasted time or even an I’m sorry for your trouble. Terrible experience that will not be repeated by me!

If you expect more than a warm body to get your rental from, then this is great for you. We requested a mid size truck, and were given a full size truck due to unavailability of what we requested. We were told it was an upgrade, however we would have preferred a smaller vehicle with better gas mileage. When we expressed our concerns about it we were dismissed and not given any options. The clerk was unreceptive and didn’t care to help us, she was just trying to get people out of her line. Thankfully we were able to go to the budget location on Ina the next day and they were much more helpful. The only reason I will return to budget for service is because of Raquell at Budget/Avis on Ina.

Recently rented a small SUV from Tucson airport with drop off in Denver. The Mitsubishi SUV was adequate-even with 49,000 miles. But license plate was expired by 4 months. I received a verbal warning from a kind officer who suggested that I check this next time. When dropping off in Denver, although returning it full of gas, I was charged for 8 gallons.

Took an hour to get car. Car windows were dirty. Trim on interior of lift gate was coming loose. Tires were worn to wear marks.

I was in Tucson to visit my elderly mother in September, who was in hospital, then hospice, then passed away during the time of my Budget car rental. From the time I rented the car from Budget at Tucson International Airport, the low tire pressure light was on. With running back and forth from the hospital and hospice and staying in touch with relatives, I didn't have time to call Budget to address the issue. I had to fill the back tire with air daily, at my expense, in 100 degree weather! When I finally called, a day or two before returning the car, Budget customer service told me they would not give me a credit until after the car was returned. They offered me a $50 credit, which I said was not acceptable. (I had a $300 rental for compact car, for 1 week). They documented an escalation case. I called yesterday to follow up on getting a credit. The customer service rep I spoke to said Budget would only honor the $50 credit that was documented in their notes from when I first called. He said that was the deal they made, and if I had requested a full refund at time of returning the car, Budget would have honored it, but since that wasn't what was agreed to, $50 was all they would do. I reminded him that I had not agreed to $50 credit and had requested escalation of the case, for which I had an escalation case #. He refused to put me through to a supervisor/manager until I had argued with him for a long time. Supervisor I eventually spoke to said an $85 credit is best they would do. I will submit further complaint with Budget Rent a Car. Additionally, my brother flew into Tucson to see my mom. He also rented from Budget. When he got in his rental, the engine light was on. He asked Budget employee what was going on. The employee asked if my brother wanted to rent the car as is. My brother asked the employee, jokingly, if Budget could offer a "engine light on" rate? Then my brother told the employee he needed a car that didn't have engine light on! He did get another car, but it seems clear that budget is not doing reasonable maintenance on their vehicles. Maybe that's why their rates are so much lower than other rental car companies. Lesson learned, I will not rent from them again.

I rented a car for one day when I landed at the Tucson international airport. After I checked in with the rep, she gave me the key and told me to go pick it up. No one cones and check the car with you to make sure it has no problems. Before I leave the parking garage, a tire pressure warning came on the dashboard, which tell me that they do not check the car well before hand it to the next customer. I went back and got another rental.

The car itself was a nice rental, but when I told the agent I would choose option to refill gas tank before returning the car, she should have pointed out that Budget charges $9.99/gal for any difference between what the car started with & what it was returned with. When I refueled the car before returning it, the gas gage was above the full mark but apparently not completely full cause I was charged $30.00 for 3 gallons of gas short of what it started with. Had I known that, I would've been more vigilant about making sure the gas tank was full, even though I thought it was. Actually, I think $9.99/gal for gas is just outright greed & a total ripoff by Budget to get more money from their rentals. So I'll never recommend them to anyone, or their sister company Avis, & WARN anyone considering them, to read the entire contract & make sure the gas tank is completely FULL before returning the car. I hadn't rented a car in a long time so wasn't savy to these types of ploys.

The young man who checked me in my car, was as rude as can be. I got lost from his directions. He was very short tempered. Totally unsatisfactory experience dropping off my car at Tucson international airport.

If I could give zero stars I would!! Charged me $85 dollars extra for returning the truck without a full tank of gas. I filled the truck up 3 miles from the airport and have the receipt to prove it. They are stealing from people and hoping they do not notice!! Terrible business practice. Range was 280 miles when picked up and 305 miles when I dropped off. Check your charges with this shady company!!Also, we thought we were renting a Toyota tacoma (or similar) but were originally given a very dirty and very basic nissan frontier (tin can). When we went back in to complain about the truck being dirty the woman who helped us "found a tacoma we could use instead". Much better fully loaded truck with android auto. Why not give us the correct truck from the start?!They did refund the $85 after calling and having to prove we filled it up. We had to take our time to prove our innocence. If the needle is past the "F" on the fuel gauge its obviously full of gas!
