My family uses United Healthcare. We use a special card tied to our insurance. An OTC card, to make purchases......at any rate, this is the third time I've been in this store, brought something up to the counter LABELED AS OTC, and this manager, Michael would not honor it. I am so frustrated. If it is not covered, do not label it as such. If it IS labeled as such, honor it. I'll be going to Walgreens from now on.

The best CVS in town. I've been using this pharmacy for 4-5 years, and every single pharmacist that has come through has been kind, competent, and very patient. The pharmacy tech staff is also extremely experienced and capable. My compliments to the management and the top tier service provided.

On Friday, April 19, 2024, at approximately 1pm an 88 year old women rode up to our office building door on her motorized scooter here in Tucson Arizona where the whether was at least 95 degrees at that hour. She spoke Russian and very, very little English. She first asked for help to call her Pharmacy, CVS down the street on Grant and Rosemont across the street from the Hospital because she believed they forgot to give her the prescribed insulin for her diabetes.
We tried calling the pharmacy but it was pretty useless so I drove her down to the pharmacy, me, a perfect stranger who clearly had compassion and concern for this elderly woman. There was no way we could have sent her back on her scooter in that treacherous heat to her regular CVS Pharmacy. Once we arrived, there was no wheelchair or motorized scooter available for her to use. She could barely walk holding on to me and or the cart. We approached the pharmacy pick up window, I explained that we had just called and figured it would be easier to talk in person with her because she said she did not get her insulin prescription (NovaLog). They said it was not covered by her insurance. I asked how much it was, they said $300. I called her doctor’s office on her behalf and spoke to the doctors assistant, she said they can give her the generic. While I was on the phone with the Doctors office, the pharmacy technicians said to me they are closing in 2 minutes for lunch. I hung up the phone and told them they said to give her the generic. They said they did not have a prescription for the generic insulin Aspart made by Humalog. I proceeded to ask if they could please call the doctor because they really are the ones that should be doing it anyway. She said no, they are going to lunch, helped a customer, and started closing the rollup shutters down on us. I told her please someone could stay and help this elder woman and they said “No, the Pharmacist has to eat.” I said can’t someone stay a few minutes to help, and she said “No!” I said, “I am writing a review about this treatment.” She said, “that’s fine but we get a lunch break.” I said, “if anything happens to this woman it’s on your hands,” she said, No, it’s on her doctors’ hands!” and she closed the shutters.
This makes me absolutely sick to my stomach that people like this work at a pharmacy, let alone directly across from one of the biggest hospitals in Tucson. No compassion or concern for an 88-year-old woman with diabetes out in 95+ degree weather.
I am posting this on google, yelp, facebook, sending to the local news and I will also be sending this to Karen Lynch, President and CEO of CVS.
Stand with me to #boycottCVS until they do better. They owe this woman an apology.
The employees at this CVS need to apologize face to face to this woman or lose their jobs!! There were 5-6 people in that pharmacy not one person could wait 10 minutes for lunch.
What did I end up doing? Well I took her to her Doctors office and got them to call in a prescription to TMC Pharmacy which is now her new pharmacy.

First time at this CVS. Susan helped me out with my prescription. She was wonderful. Went above and beyond to help. This is a woman who really cares about people. This is rare these days. I usually go to the CVS down the road in Target. Not anymore. Everyone in this CVS is efficient and hard working. But Susan is the star. I work in health care and she deserves praise and a raise. DO NOT LOSE your gem.

I picked up two new meds today and there are no instructions on the labels. I spoke with the pharmacist who told me that they can’t print instructions on the label if the instructions are over 100 characters and that I must get the directions from the bulky brochure that comes with each med. I threw those away - who keeps those things? I don’t think it’s a safe practice to dispense medication into a container that is so easily separated from its instructions. I hope this can be remedied because we oldsters need simplification, not complication.

The front entrance people were phenomenal and very helpful and very friendly. The customer service representative in the pharmacy was rude and disrespectful and not helpful. They ultimately helped with what I needed but it was so horrible experience. I did not talk directly to a pharmacist, so I did not know How they would’ve responded. What an unfortunate experience.

I was wondering why the first pharmacy drive through was taking so long until I had to repeat my name and date of birth three times to Nguyen at the window. Please get someone more efficient there.

This cvs is like any other cvs. However, service is slow and it takes a long time to get anything. The minute clinic is okay and does its job however.
