Same story as most of the other low reviews. Cancelation is handled by a separate company and they really don't want you to cancel. I tried to cancel a few months ago because I'm currently deployed overseas with the army. Payed my last month and sent a copy of my orders to them. They've still been trying to get me to pay an extra two months. Just got an email from their collection agency. I'm sure I could fight it but I obviously don't want to get involved in a legal battle while I'm on the other side of the world in a combat zone. I also don't want my credit to get hit so congrats, you've got an extra 50 bucks but I'm never coming back to this gym.

Has enough of everything so you don't waste time waiting for machines or weights.

They should rename this gym to the “desert sports and CUHness” given how this gym is overrun by the Cuhs and often looks more like a high school gym than an actual gym. Also, is the name “desert” because it’s super hot inside and they make you want to feel like you’re in the actual desert? Some days feels like a sauna inside.Ive been a member of a fair share of gyms throughout my life and this is probably one of the dirtiest gyms I’ve been a member of. See list of pros and cons below:Pros:- Convenient access for those that live in the southwest side of town, as with the closure of the Santacruz LA Fitness options are very limited- While equipment is limited, it gets the job done most of the time- 24 hour access (as long as they key fob card works)Cons:- Dirty gym and patrons: very few people actually clean after using the machines. A lot of the younger people that come in crews and “work out” (mainly come in to chat) in the evening lack proper gym etiquette. In the handful of years I’ve been a member of this gym I haven’t really seen any employees cleaning. However over the past 2-3 weeks, I’ve seen some employees kinda vacuuming which is a plus (I guess?), but you can tell they really dislike it.- Lack of professionalism: it’s very clear when the manager is not around. The other employees are completely glued to their phone or just chatting with the Cuhs. I’d say you’ll get a hello/bye only 20% of the time since they are so into their phones. Also to management- why do you let some non-employees sit on your actual work desks? Not a good look, with my most recent experience back on March 30th around 3pm its off-putting and tarnishes the professionalism of the gym. Same group of kids that love taking off their shirt in the middle of the weight room to take pictures.- Broken machines: there’s a few broken machines that have been in that state for months. When the gym is this small, every machine should be fixed quicker vs waiting 8+ months (and counting…). Looking at you seated calf extension machine.- A/C: As mentioned above, I don’t really understand why they don’t lower the AC by a few degrees. The fans and open doors can only do so much, not sure if I’ll be able to tolerate the inside sauna during the summer months. If it’s a budget issue- fire one of the employees, seems like theres an extra unnecessary employee given how they’re always on their phones. I’m sure most of the patrons would appreciate this.

I used to be a member for a decade in the 2000s at the Ajo location, moved away for ten years , and moved back in town to start again at their Valencia location due to the closure of the Ajo location. Based on the reputation the gym had before, and how happy I was at the gym I started again. Before, the gym was pristine and there was always people walking around cleaning at any moment. I would also always see repairmen around to ensure safety of using the machines. However. The gym is changed. It’s no longer clean, most of the equipment needs repair. One machine was an actual biohazard because it was scratching everyone who used it( this can cause Both viral and bacterial types of infection). Mirrors are cracked, astroturf is gashed(trip hazard). Most of the equipment is chipped or paint, torn, frayed or tattered. The kettlebells are so worn out and rusty /chipped that you cannot see what weight you’re looking for. . Even the cardio machines have pieces broken in need of repair. The gym has not been properly maintained and now I beleive to get everything looking nice it will take multiple thousands of dollars. While I like the staff and the personal training program they offer very much, and I like the positive atmosphere the staff and community create, i do not find it safe to work out here and will be ending membership after two months.

24/7 hours makes it very convenient, the staff is top notch.Just a suggestion but it seems like every time i come here it gets warmer and warmer. Google recommends a temperature between 65-68 degrees for various exercises, this location has their thermostat at 74-78. It would be nice to at least install more fans or keep ventilation going. People can always wear more clothes if it gets too cold, but there's not much to do when it gets too hot.7/04/2019They added squat racks a few months ago, which is a huge plus. Still a little too warm when the place gets crowded though. Air gets thick, heavy and humid, especially in the summer time. Rita is a very friendly staff member.

Don't get the membershipcancelation is near impossible. Especially with how long it takes for them to email you back. Since you can't cancel through calling a representative. Looking at previous reviews it seems that this is an ongoing problem with this gym. I even saw that various individuals have the same trouble as me when it comes to canceling. This problwm with your billing company goes as far back as 5 years!

The gym itself is a solid okay. But canceling this membership is near impossible. I've been trying for the past month and they take weeks to answer back. Talking about only 3 ways to cancel the plan when I was told it could be canceled when ever

I like this place because it's 24 hours That's the only reason I worked out during the day for Hour and a 1/2. Three people Set at the desk Playing on their phone the whole time Instead of cleaning Here's an idea Fire one of them And turn the AC on We pay more than any other gym But the only advantage is 24 hours Here's another idea Instead of trying to give away a TV Where everybody promotes it For you Try having the staff clean upTurn the air on And people may want to join.

I've been a member for 13 years now, I love going to this gym. Friendly staff and it has everything I need including dumbbells up to 100 lbs, unlike the 75 lb max at Chuze or PF. They also try to keep the machines up to date. And I love that they are 24/7/365.

So when is the gym in the south side going to install the new cable pulley equipment? I appreciate the efforts for getting new equipment. However, it's been more than 5 days and the boxes are in the same places. Are you refunding us for the time you are not providing what your contract says?Asking for a friend
