First ... their doors were closed and locked to prevent customers from entering the restaurant.Strictly drive thru service when we arrived.Second ... we used the drive thru.My companion ordered the chicken taco salad and I ordered two tacos with a large order of pinto beans.Third ... at the pay and pickup window, I inquired as to why the inside was closed for dinning. We were informed that they had a plumbing problem ... most likely their bathrooms or kitchen.If they had post this information on their restaurant entry doors ... we would have gone somewhere else for take-out that evening.However, it was too late, we had given them our order not knowing why the dinning was closed.El Pollo Loco should have been addressing the potential sanitary issues and customer safety concerns first and foremost.Fourth ... the taco salad was fine with the exception of the chicken being slightly overcooked.My chicken tacos were a disappointment because the chicken bits were minced and slightly overcooked with pieces of cartilage and bone mixed in. I also prefer corn tortillas over flour tortillas for their texture.The pinto beans were undercooked and could have been simmered for an additional 20 to 30 minutes more.There was just too many issues stemming from their plumbing problems that contributed to a failed dinner service that evening.Inexperienced Management is at fault or someone was more concerned with making money at the risk of their customers well-being.I'm mostly upset having been placed in the position of being the one having to write this review. It will be quite a while before I consider returning to this location.SLFN ... JJ

The food was just okay. Average. It's been a while since I've gone to an El Pollo loco. He was very nice friendly. He forgot my fork so it was kind of a pain to eat my mac and cheese and coleslaw but I did.The sauces were good The chicken was also just okay.

The salsa tastes old like it's rotten and I ordered NO NO NO cheese. She even asked me if I wanted cheese. I said NO!!!!!What's up with these Mexican food places. I say NO cheese and I still get it.So annoying.

We picked up a 16 piece family meal, paid $46.69 for old burnt chicken.. the sides were tasty.. called to let them know, asked for the manager.. I asked for the ladies name, so I can know who I was talking too.. she refused to give it, and you can tell that my request bother her.. she asked me to hold and put the phone down, I can hear they were busy, so I gave the person the benefit of the doubt why she was short with me.. she returned to the phone, and asked what I needed.. she again hesitated to give me her name, she then asked if I can call back in 15 minutes.. I said sure, who should I asked for.. again with a lot of resistance and after asking for her name 6 times.. she finally said Karla, now I wonder if this is her true name.. I haven't called back yet, but with BAD food and BAD customer service.. why should I even consider going back?

Typical fast food setting inside. Chicken was dry and my bowl was 80% pinto beans that tasted like they came right out of a can and were not completely cooked. A little bit of avocado in it. Was grateful for the sour cream since it was the other ingredients were so dry. Since it was on our way and less expensive than Chipotle we stopped here, but for $3 more, i'm going to Chipotle!

The food is good and fresh. Service is prompt mostly. The one complaint I do have is that you always have to double check your order cause I have gotten the wrong combo on the drive thru window several times. Sucks getting home and finding out your order is not correct.

I am a vegetarian and my family is not. Sometimes I order rice, beans and salsa. Just to make it convenient for them. Last two times I have received peices of chicken in my beans and rice.

Yummy healthy options. I got the Street Corn Double Pollo Fit Bowl, and it was delicious and a big portion! Lots of chicken. It'll be my new go-to menu item. I like that there are nutritious options, and you can see the nutritional information online. The cashier (Aryeh) was nice. The dining room was clean.

Had to raise up to 4 stars, from 3. It looked to be an all female staff at the time of my visit for lunch. The food tasted like I'm sure Pollo loco intended. Good job ladies. Will definitely be back for lunch again.
