I found this gallery totally underwhelming: from the exhibit of tedious Chamillard pen and ink drawings (on accounting paper) to the decades-old, overplayed journalistic photo images. It's not a photography museum at all, and certainly fails to showcase the work of brilliant Tucson photographers who don't kowtow to the owner.

Recommended to us by the local artists at Photographic Works, we were delighted by the quality of the space and the curation of iconic photos. Daphne was super attentive, and the exhibits (Graciela Iturbide and iconic photos from Cuba) were very interesting. Reminds us of the kind of care and attention of the Greenberg Gallery in New York. The Old Barrio area of Tucson is being renewed, and will definitely be “the place” to visit in Tucson in the coming years.

If you love yourself visit the Etherton Gallery. I went there to see the gallery and meditate. Its a cozy place with helpful, interested staff. There are a number of photographers represented. I found many favorites. Graciela Iturbide's work was most inspiring to me.

I came to Etherton Gallery from PHX for the Jay Dussard exhibit in 06/2022. The gallery highlighted Jay although photographs of other legends such as Ansel Adams and Steve McCury were on display. Arriving a couple hours before the exhibit began, it was pleasure talking photography with Jay who in my opinion, belongs on the Mt Rushmore of photography. It was super cool discussing the stories behind some of his photographs. Most photographs shown were western themed, although I absolutely love his black and white landscapes. The event began in at 7. As we arrived, fashionably late at 730, a couple hundred people were already inside floating around the gallery and outside listening to the Dusty Ramblers (who were electric). The gallery was beautiful and the night was a ton of fun. I plan on coming again soon.

Etherton is a fantastic gallery. If what is currently displayed doesn't grab you, just wait a short while for the next exhibit. With the variety of artwork, something will catch your eye. Terry Etherton, Daphne, and the other staff are warm and friendly and enjoy filling in details on artists and the art. The visits there are unforgettable.

The owner of this establishment is SO absolutely rude & ridiculous! Degraded a young woman because he did not get his way. SHAME ON YOU. Do not support this business!

Oh my!!! The new space is incredible and much more light than I expected. Caught the Yoga show right before it came down. I loved the old space but out with the old and in with more history in Convent.
