Am fortunate to visit once a quarter. The young man always recognizes me. Number one am 100 miles away. Am hunting back issues, which they have. Found some surprises today when I visited.

Really, really great store!! Went here all the time as a kid. The stock of trade paperbacks is fantastic, they've helped me find many a book I've wanted for my collection.

Great selection, but I find the owner to be pretty non-personable to the point of often coming off as gruff/rude depending on the day. If he stepped up in his customer service, he would really have something.

I. LOVE. THIS. PLACE!!!! I'm from Sierra Vista, so I only really visit every few months, but it's been wonderful every time. Great selection of DC comic books - except for Red Hood, but he's sadly in shortage everywhere - which was great for collecting DCeased trade paperbacks. Admittedly, some volumes of books are missing from the shelves while I was looking for them, but, again, that's an issue I've seen with a good amount of stores. The back section displaying this week's comics, last week's comics, and comics from two weeks ago (iirc, that's how they're listed) is VERY useful when it comes to collecting single issues. I utilized that feature while building my Knight Terrors collection! The staff I've met so far is very friendly and helpful - though that could be from the fact that I tend to spend over $40 on comics here, though. That, and I'm always very excited and overall giddy whenever I'm able to come here. Best comic book shop in Tucson (at least of the three I've been to) and I honestly wish I could visit more often. I started going to Fantasy Comics back when they were in a little shop at Campbell and Glenn. Thirty years and a better location later, they are still the best comic shop in town! If you're looking for that perfect gift for the comic geek in your family, this is the place to go!

I want to start by asking the owner to reevaluate how the employees engage with customers. Been reading and collecting comics for about 20 years and I can count on my hands the number of shops I've been to that I'll never give business to again and this one falls in there if the employee working there (Eric/Aaron, couldn't hear him completely when I asked his name) represents the shop the way he did that day.The store itself has an amazing layout, the bins and the pullout shelves are top notch from what I could see. The owner really did design the shop well. Plenty of inventory to choose from, and not just comics. The organization of the comics is intuitive and it's relatively easy to find what you're looking for after you get your bearings (the store is pretty big inside). The real problem is the attitude. It seems like the positive reviews are from regulars. That's to be expected; treat your base well so that they come back. But someone who hasn't been to the shop before and is a different experience. When I first entered, there was no one in the shop. The shop guy, Eric, was somewhere in the back as I saw him come out after a minute. it was the standard "How's it going, let me know if you need anything" greeting. downhill after that. I asked for some direction of where certain titlles would be in the backissues and I was met with (paraphrasing) 'You'll have to look for it.' Fine, I'll look. You could tell he was just there in a supervising capacity as he wasn't helpful with much and just watched the movie that was on.After I had a decent amount of books I took them to Eric and asked to open them to inspect them since each book was at minimum cover price while others were above 10-15$. All the comics are sealed and I was told they can only cut open and open the books if they are $25+ otherwise I'd have to buy the book. If that is the store's policy, that's fine as it's their business and they can run it how they want. But I told him I wanted to buy the books and as long as there weren't any issues with them I would buy them. It was laughable what he said to me afterwards, along the lines of "if you can't afford a book for under 25$ then maybe you shouldn't be buying those books". I honestly thought he was joking so I laughed but when I saw he was serious I told him fine. I left the books there and walked out. I had about 60-80$ in books right there; sad that a shop in this day and age would let that fly all because of one guy.
