Gene C. Reid Park is a well-maintained and shaded outdoor space located on the East side. The park features an amphitheater that can comfortably host large gatherings, making it a popular venue for community events like the MLK Day Celebrations. Visitors can enjoy walks, let their children play, and appreciate the abundant shade provided by the many trees. While the park area is generally well-lit and cared for, the bathroom facilities have been reported to be in need of improvement. Large park with many places for kids, youth, adults, and dogs (on a leash unless in the dog park) to play or just relax. Has a nice rose garden and band shell too!

There are a lot of homeless people there but the park is nice.

Hadn't been to the zoo in a while but went with friends visiting from out of state. It was lovely a usual. Got to see the baby giraffe 🦒 up close & the otters were adorable.
