About Gordon Hirabayashi Campground
Gordon Hirabayashi Campground offers a unique desert oasis experience, especially when creeks are flowing. The campground features stunning night skies and a variety of hiking options, suitable for different skill levels. It is a quiet and small site, with an informative memorial about Camp Honor, reflecting on the history of WWII Japanese internment camps. While there are restrooms available, garbage and waste disposal facilities are lacking. Visitors have noted challenges with theft, such as camp chairs disappearing. Overall, it is a beautiful area for families and those interested in the history of the site, though it may not be ideal for large vehicles or those seeking solitude during busy daytime hours.

Good spot for large vehicles and low on the mountain. No cell and lots of traffic in the day. I had my nice camp chair stolen from my site while I went for a walk, but I guess that's my fault for assuming people wouldn't steal a camp chair.

We took our kids and grandkids up Mt. Lemmon to explore. This stop was very informative regarding the history of the site. We did not use the campground.
