I have been a member of Hughes since I bought my first car back in 2014 with a cosigner. Since then, I have tried to get two different car loans, one in 2018 and one this year only to be denied with no good reasoning and given the run around by their employees. I have never missed a payment, never defaulted on a loan and have excellent credit. Any issue I have had with Hughes has been resolved with one call to another credit union that actually wants my business. Save yourself the trouble and bank with a reputable bank or credit union... Hughes is not that. Just look at their other reviews. My accounts will be closed tomorrow.

ZERO stars. They need a dog crap emoji, I'd give them 10/10 with that. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE Incompetent. Mobile app is a disaster. Online banking isn't much better. No one has any answers. It is literally designed to make it difficult. Enter information and wait 20-30 minutes for the email for confirmation to arrive after it has already expired. It took 6+ months to change my address. Every phone call had an operator saying "yes I see the note here" but couldnt explain why my mail was going to my previous address for over 6 months. Every single month this was an issue. 6+ phone calls, 6+ operators, 6+ promises and 6+ disappointments. I pay way too many late charges because they can't even process a payment over the phone correctly. The app kept having issues and paying online never got straightened out because setting it up was botched so I needed to call **what they refer to as ** customer service. It's not customer service, it is a waste of time. They see each other's notes and always reply with "I don't know what happened to prevent the payment from going through." It is total BS. I am also routinely charged $75/month for their insurance coverage even though I have always carried my own insurance. I am constantly told they see that I have carried my own insurance only to get a letter in the mail telling me that I purchased theirs again for $75. They simply don't know what they are doing and will only offer to connect you to someone else who doesn't know what they are doing either. Running away from these people!!! you should too!!! From day 1 these people have been pathetically incompetent. Doing business with this organization was a terrible mistake. I am getting as far away from this crap show as fast as I can. You should stay away.

Do not do business with this corrupt corporation! They charge endless fees with no communication to their lease holders. They were unwilling to work with a valued customer after they made errors in an account that was NOT late. The manager said "sounds good" when I said I will be taking my loan elsewhere. BEWARE! BAD BUSINESS

if i could do a zero star review i would. this bank has gotten worse and worse the longer i have been with them i cant wait to pay off my loan so i can close my account and be done with them. i loved this bank for the first year i was with them and it has just gone down hill since. i have actively talked people out of getting an account here not worth the time or headaches.

I will never ever again have any account with them. They wouldn't cash my tax return check because my account was overdrawn by $50 and my check was for $2200! Wasted my time with unnecessary people's snobby attitudes and even before I had that account they discriminate and will not hire men period. It's completely feministic.

horrible customer service! they don't care about their customers. just read other people reviews, it all boils down to them not giving a f about the customer. I regret refinancing my car through this credit union. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND this bank!! *update 4/26/23* so I get a reply from the "business owner" on here and says to call them. surprisingly picked up pretty quick, the guy I spoke to had to have been the nicest guy I've talk to in this company so far. he says he has to transfer me to the collections department for my issue. he transfers me and it goes straight to an automated voicemail system. how the hell does that help me?! you mean to tell me that you don't have someone working that department to take calls right away or at least be put on hold or something. just leave a voicemail and you'll get back to me? just so you guys can call me when I don't have time then blame it on me for not taking care of the situation like always. unbelievable. fix your system and the way you are supposed to help your customers. Obviously I'm a customer having a bad experience and you tell me to call a regular number. How bout you contact me or give me a direct line to solve the issue asap. AGAIN, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY! Save yourself some time and stress and bank elsewhere.

I am sorry to say it but this credit union has the worst customer service of any business aside from the DMV! Especially if you make the mistake of calling after hours. I went to a local non-Hughes credit union, as I am in Colorado, to pay the full balance of my auto loan; some $26,000. I was advised to call the Hughes credit union and advise them of the payment and to ask about next steps. The associate was rude and condescending, and did not listen to the purpose of my call. Only to badger me for being 15 days late, wanting to update my address, work phone, etc., and asking what the reason for being late. I repeated that I had just paid off the loan and asked why he was badgering me with the questions and belittling me. I restated that I hadn't paid 15 days prior because I knew I would be paying it off today. He continued to state that he is supposed to ask the questions and that if I didn't want to answer them then there wasn't anything could be done. I asked who would be calling to update me about the title, etc.; the purpose of my call and he stated no one would be calling me. This should have been a joyous occasion, calling to tell them it was paid off. This guy was the cherry on top as to why I will never do business with this credit union again. Additionally, I will tell everyone who will listen the same! There's just a way to be a person and this guy was not it.

I like going here, it is fast and clean, the people are helpful and friendly, I like to be in and out and they do a good job of not holding me up, I have never had a problem with the bank itself, its good to support local!

1 star because 0 isn't an option. Garbage, complete garbage. Can't use auto pay unless you bank with them, their system is so jacked up. So ready to wipe my hands clean of them

Very difficult to get an accurate answer from them. Impossible to find loan information on app. Nowhere does it give you the monthly payment amount.
