Rillito River Park at La Canada offers a peaceful place to walk or ride with nice wide paved trails. It is a perfect stop along the loop, far enough from the city to be quiet and probably safe for kids. Many enjoy the nature, the quietness, and the beautiful wash, especially during monsoon. The smaller loop is just over a mile with longer options available. There is plenty of parking close to restaurants and shopping. Visitors recommend coming early in the morning for a peaceful walk and note it is dog-friendly with stations near grassy areas. However, it is important to be aware of surroundings. There can be homeless individuals and occasional unsafe activity, so it is advised to protect valuables. The bathrooms may not be safe. Watch for venomous creatures and bring water, a hat, and sunscreen as it heats up fast.
I use the bike path often. It usually has very few other people on the loop, and it's scenic.

Actually, an OK park and a nice stop along the way if you’re riding on the loop it’s far enough away from the city that there aren’t very many people here and it’s probably safe to bring kids here

Restrooms are always so clean. Soap at the sinks and easy access back on the road.
