Oh Safeway Had to go to customer service again today after shopping. We all need to save money these days as every time we go to the store basics go up in price! I clip the digital coupons and three items came up regular price. Not only was customer service woman unfriendly but she needed to see my phone and I had to pull all the items out of my bag so she could go back and check the prices. So what has this world come to that we need to verify items that are clearly run up on my receipt and all to save a buck. It's becoming not only a cut throat sport to navigate shopping at the store but when employees are unfriendly it really bothers me. Takes no extra effort to be nice. We all need to extend more kindness these days. I feel for the elderly who don't have a phone or the means to download coupons just so they can buy necessities. Why?

Now my local grocery store! It really helps to shop the Safeway grocery app., and My Safeway. Can save up to 50% on groceries. Also good to support local stores! Check out employees are always friendly and stores are clean.

The help is friendly. But the prices are staggeringly high here. Low-priced and advertised specials were empty shelves. Honestly, I'd never seen prices this high in my life. Worse, to get any price advantage, you must sign up for their customer tracking package.I'll not be back. The profiteering is just to blatant, the robbery of privacy far too high.

I went for sushi. It was old and the rice was very dry. I ended up tossing it. That's America order I bought half and half. It was chunky. The bread and vegetables were great.

The "cashier" that helps with self checkout named Stella is so rude and unpleasant. Don't know why she has a job involving customer service when she clearly has no idea how to work in customer service. Never experienced such unprofessionalism from a cashier at any other grocery store. Yikes.

Their produce is always fresh and crisp. Staff friendly and kind. Customer Service is outstanding! Yesterday, April 26, 2022, I left my car locked with purse in the front seat. My car keys, wallet, and cell phone where in that purse. Customer Service helped me by calling a locksmith to their location. A kind staff named Brandon was covering Customer Service late afternoon. His manager (didn't catch his name) approved Brandon's phone calls. I was lucky to have had all this happen in safe place...indeed, they truly are SAFEWAY. They are not protecting your safety. I live right around the corner from this store so I shop there frequently. When I was there today, I've noticed quite a few people not wearing masks. They have a sign at the entrance saying "Masks Required". Well, obviously not. The virus is ramping up again. I've overheard another customer talking to the manager about this, because she's noticed quite a few customers without masks too, and the manager just told her that there are exceptions, but they don't ask about it at the entrance.. He told her some have medical conditions where those customers can't wear a mask. So what? Those customers can cough or sneeze on products and spread the virus. I'm sorry, but when it says "Required", I am assuming you're re-inforcing it. If anyone can't wear a mask due to medical reasons, then they need to do curbside pick up, which the store is offering. By just letting them in, you've just told all of your other customers that you don't care about their safety at all. And before the manager comes on here saying "We take all the precautions recommended by the Health Department to keep our employees and valued customers safe", NO YOU'RE NOT! I don't care how much you clean. If you're letting anyone come in without a mask, you're putting everyone else at risk. Period. There is no way for your employees to disinfect fruit, vegetables, every canned or packaged good. Practice what your sign says. Keep everyone safe!

Clean, well stocked, well lit (which is often overlooked) and helpful staff. Their produce always looks fresh and I can usually find many vegetarian and vegan options in frozen and dry foods for a reasonable price.

I grew up in a town were the only grocery store was a safeway, and i have shoped at many safeways in days. i like safeway. but this safeway is the worst safeway i have ever been to. they rarely have things stocked, they have many employees but it seems like they are always on break or missing, the workers are rarely helpful when needing to find things, some of the check outs are rude. Frequently there are 5 or more people waiting in line, meat department is not great they do not have good selection of meat, save yourselfe some grief and money drive an extra mile and go to a different grocery store.

First of all, I think half of the bad reviews are because people don't know which Safeway on Tanque Verde they are reviewing. This Safeway is near Catalina Highway and it rocks. This is my go to store for over 15 years. The Deli is awesome,Dena and the staff rock.. Love Jane, Sherry and all the cashiers,Mona, Shirley and the great Starbucks crew with Patrick at the helm. Sorry but this is the only store I go to. These guys do a great job and I shop there frequently and have NEVER had bad service.
