I have been a customer of this Safeway pharmacy for well over a dozen years. I am a retired heath care professional, and am very particular (VERY!) about who I trust with my medical care, be it a provider, or pharmacy. I have found John and his staff to be nothing short of professional and knowledgeable, and consistent in their expertise and courteous demeanor. Prescriptions are filled in a timely manner, and if I do have a question, it is handled in a prompt and skillful manner.

If privacy is a concern or you need actual help then this pharmacy is not for you.My family needed to get medication for our dog diagnosed with valley fever. Banfield Pet Hospital called in the prescription at 9am on 12/05/2023. My girlfriend had called the pharmacy a couple times out of anxiety due to our dogs rapidly declining health. The last phone call was with Pharmacy Manager John Bennett at 5:00pm asking when the medication would be filled. He stated it hadn’t been filled yet but could be in 15 minutes. My girlfriend asked what was taking so long as they’ve had it 8 hours now. John became annoyed and didn’t have much to say before hanging up.We stand in line and get to the counter at 5:30pm. We needed to update the insurance information and had some questions about it. John stopped what he was doing to walk over and retaliate against us. The exact words out of his mouth were “See this is the reason why everything takes so long because we deal with this all day”. He walked away while continuing to mumble under his breath. For the next 30 minutes we stand there while he is supposedly repricing our medication. But the fact is he could have said it in a very different context for example “We typically suggest providing insurance information when submitting the prescription to save time”. It has an entirely different connotation to it.Secondly, the pharmacist Erin working up front has her cell phone in plain site on the register. Now I’m not accusing any one of anything. But Arizona is one of the top states for identity theft and there are plenty of voice recording apps available on most app stores. Making it very easy to steal your privately protected HIPAA information.I’m already in the process of submitting HIPAA violations but wanted to share the experience with everyone as well.

The technician told me they did not have the medication, but the pharmacist admitted they were too busy to fill the medicine that I had just dropped off. However, I was present when other customers dropped their prescriptions and the staff promised their prescriptions would be ready in 30 minutes. Is this selective customer service? Please do better.

I have used this pharmacy for 20 years. John, the pharmacist and pharmacy manager has been wonderful. They have had a few staff changes, but what pharmacy hasn't. They are always kind and friendly. I will continue to use this pharmacy while we are here in Tucson.

Called to check on a prescription provided two days ago by my MD's office. They denied having received it. Called my MD, who had sent prescriptions to store over 48 hours ago. Went in to pharmacy. Said prescription wasn't ready. They were uninformed, rude, gave me false info on my medication, and were to involved with arrogant sniggering at various customers to be bothered dealing with anyone.

I called today to refill my husband’s two medications and I was told by the pharmacist that it will take half day. I asked the pharmacist to try to do it faster because my husband has to leave Tucson. I was told that it will not happen. When I tried to plead, the blood pressure medication is essential, the guy said I was taking up his time and he hung up. Not helpful and rude. I do not recommend this pharmacy and I am a physician.

This pharmacy rocks and they are really nice. I buy the heartworm pills and ordered a special order canned dog food through them, and they were the best. They are also very good with pain-free vaccinations. <3

Try somewhere else. This does not just from me but the women behind the counter said they are understaffed and it would be good to use another pharmacy.

Very poor service. Hangs up phone immediately after picking up, also after asking for a hold then hangs up on you. Acts like doing their job in a timely manner means disregarding the customer and their precious time. Does not understand the immediacy and response being a pharmacist requires.

The checkout lady's mask was down below her nose, which she touched 4 tomes while she touched about 30 things we bought. if you're gonna do this, DO THIS RIGHT! We're both in our 60's and susceptible to Covid! your own employees were going down the aisles in the wrong direction, IGNORING the arrows! If we find out the other stores are even sloppier, we'll be back, but ONLY then! we were there b4 5pm and arrived back home by 6pm. thanks, Stuart Teichner
