This store is dishonest
They lie about things being on sale, but often they are not
I'm a snowbird and I encountered this last year, and tonight I encountered it again
I only go to Safeway when it's the store that is close to where I am staying. I used to shop at Safeway on Barbur in Portland all the time, did that for years. Now I loathe Safeway, as they are dishonest
They lost a regular customer by being two things: too expensive, and dishonest

Bad experience at the Deli trying to ask for some fried chicken. I didn't get her name, but she was working today at 11:30 am. She was a short, older lady with short grey hair and glasses. I walked up and said hi. She looked at me and finished helping a customer. After she was done, she went back to cleaning. I kept moving closer to her and she kept acting like she didn't see me. So I decided to ask a different employee who was working the floor. He stopped what he was doing and helped me. I went straight over to customer service to complain. I hope this lady is spoken to as a reminder to help customers and not ignore them. Thanks to the employees that actually care and are willing to do the extra job the lazy ones refuse to do and still get paid.

I don't shop here often, they are so much more expensive than Frys. They are very very limited on wheat and dairy free alternatives.

Safeway in Bisbee was highway robbery, and the only option. Now in Tucson it's a more affordable higher end place for better eggs and produce. Its also the only place to buy things like calf liver... I don't want to, but have to have it and this is the only chain in Tucson that carries it regularly.

CONSISTENTLY & UNJUSTIFIABLY WAY OVERPRICED.
I truly feel prior to covid that the produce was of a higher quality then other markets, unfortunately after covid, there's nothing exceptional here outside of the prices.
If it's not a sale item, l not buying it.
Walmart is far cheaper and it's only a few miles further down the road.

This Safeway is my very favorite in the entire City of Tucson. Everything is in its place, and the employees are extremely polite and hardworking. If you can't find something, there's always someone available to help you look. I have had instances where "I'm looking right at an item" and just not seeing it, and someone will still help me. Thank you to each and every person who works so hard here

I’ve been going to this store before Safeway bought it. Back then it seemed like they had a larger selection of food etc.. It seems since COVID some of the shelves are empty. It’s frustrating to go to the store with your list and not be able to get what you wanted. They seem to have an issue with keeping gallon size bottles of distilled water. The quart size bottles of lemonade - that’s on sale— shelf is empty. They have all sorts of milks but a lot of times there isn’t the regular on sale milk available. Forget having a selection of flowers on any Sunday— that’s when working people shop— on the weekends and yet they say they’re getting a delivery on Monday. I feel a store that has an item on sale should buy a lot of that item in preparation for a lot of people buying it. I love the people that work there— always very friendly and helpful. I love the produce. I just wish they always had the stuff on the shelves that I need

Friendly cashiers and staff that's always willing to help. We love our neighborhood Safeway. It can get busy, but self checkout options are helpful. The prices are decent. Fruit, vegetables, and meat are always fresh.

I was unaware of the bat(s) outside and the rat crap inside. The Heath Dept. should have been called. The threat of fines trump any assurances a supposed owner or upper level management provides.
The person complaining about not being allowed to bring a dog in should just leave it at home. What's wrong with you people? I don't care what someone might have told you, use some common sense. The vast majority of shoppers don't want or need to compete with animals on a lease or in the carts.. It isn't a Vets office.
The standard offerings of bread, frozen pizza, mushroom slices and just about anything is a hit or miss with this store. Some items just aren't carried anymore or this store is unable to stock the shelves in a timely fashion. When they do attempt to restock there are more stocking carts than there are shopping carts in the aisles. What a cluster.
If I had known about the meat issues mentioned above, I would have shopped for a new grocery for sure.
I feel the store was more professionally ran before whatever caused the changes above. IMO.

This location has a quality control issue. They rarely check dates on meats and also mislabel them. Twice now, I’ve purchased lamb, opened it the same day to cook and it’s rotten! I constantly find expired meats for sale, to include boars head deli meat to the left of the deli counter. One day, I pulled 8 packages of salami and prosciutto that were so old, they’d turned brown. I set them on the counter and notified the clerk. This is unacceptable.
Edit: I reached out, it was just a chatbot that only offered a refund. If you’d like more details on the rotten food, to include the green lamb I bought today, leave me an email address or phone number and I’ll reach out, thanks.
