I went to Safeway at Oracle and inatoday and was treated very badly by Tanya. I was buying wine but she refused to sell it to me...she thought I was drunk, but I'm sick and dying and have no muscle mass lleft., so I'm unsteady on my feet .I ccalled her later to explain her mistaken judgement but she didn't give it damn

I was having the worst day/week. I absolutely had to go to the store and get some essentials for my child and I. I did my shopping, went to pay and realized I didn’t even have my wallet. I finally was at self check out with my wallet and my child was climbing on me, wanting my full attention when I just needed to check out and leave. The young woman at the self check out saw my frustration and she immediately distracted my daughter so I could pay for my items and go. My kid wasn’t screaming or obnoxious, she just wouldn’t let me finish checking out because she wanted my attention. I’m so grateful to the young woman with long dark hair who stepped in and distracted my kid for just a minute while I finished up. Looking back, I’m so embarrassed about how frustrated I was. But this woman put her full attention on my child so I could finish paying and go. I wish I got her name. But little moments like this mean the world and make such a difference. She didn’t know how awful my entire week had been and the amount of stress/pressure I was under. She just simply stepped in to help when it was needed. I think it’s rare to find this kind of true customer service most places. That young woman deserves a raise and should be training other employees real customer service. I’m so grateful for her.

I love this store but lately I have been choosing to go to other stores further away from me because I am dreading having experience with one of the self checkout clerks. She is extremely rude and condescending- behaves like she is doing me a huge favor when help is needed ( especially if items are on clearance and she has to do extra work to ring me up ). She is an older lady with short hair. She also always looks like she is in a very sour mood every time I see her. I have also seen her being extremely rude and demeaning to other customers. I hope management does something to rectify this situation. Many people are choosing other stores because of bad experiences with her.

The young front end Associate with all the facial piercings was unbelievably condescending, rude and miserable. I mentioned a coupon didn't work and instead of gently explaining that I misread it, they belittled me. I made a simple mistake and in return, they made me cry.

First the positive. Today the lady at the deli counter was helpful and courteous. There is a gentleman that is often at the deli counter that is also courteous and quick to service customers.
The negative. Too often the people that work the self checkout and the customer service counter are rude, impatient and dismissive of any questioning of pricing. I couldn't even get the attention of the lady today at the self checkout as she was too busy texting on her phone. I beleive there are too many people working at this store who are truly miserable being there. I think it's as much a management problem as it is the individual personel.
