This safeway never has any sale items stocked, never honor prices or rain checks, to the best of my knowlege the manager puts the fear of God in the employees. Also they never wait until closing to stock and block shelves and isles. The people moving pallets practically ran me over, and if you request them to move pallets they actually get mad and refuse. I was told to come back earlier tomorrow! Well guess what? I work, and can only come in the evening. This Safeway is a joke in many ways, and the high prices can be criminal at times. The "sales" will sometimes literally be more then the original price, it's really wild how things are done here.
Sad that the other safeways in Tucson are waaay better, just too far away.

As of 1/22/25. It's nice that the candy(individual York) is on sale but most of it is past the "Best By" date(BB). Expired candy tastes bad. Maybe put it on sale 3-4 months before the BB date so it will sell and not be wasted and customer will be happy with the taste. A triple win! Imagine that.

I’ve been coming to Safeway for a while now, but I’m finally done. Every time I go, there’s something that makes the experience frustrating, whether it's the constant out-of-stock items or most annoyingly, the consistently wrong prices at checkout.
It seems like almost every single time I shop here, something rings up higher than the price on the shelf. I’ve had to get a price adjustment at least half a dozen times in the past month alone. It’s not a huge deal to get it corrected (if there is someone available in customer service), but it’s the principle. You shouldn’t have to double-check every item you buy just to make sure you’re being charged correctly.
What makes it worse is this is a pattern. It makes you wonder if its being done purposefully to increase store profit. It’s been going on long enough that I’m ready to take my business elsewhere. There are plenty of other stores around that offer better prices, better service, and a much smoother shopping experience overall.
On top of that, the customer service is... nonexistent. Employees seem disinterested at best and openly rude at worst. Thats been experienced from the store manager down. I’ve had multiple encounters where I’ve had to wait forever for someone to help me or ask for a price correction, and when they finally do, there’s no apology, just a rushed “Is that it?” attitude. It’s not what you want when you’re trying to make a simple grocery run.
I wouldn’t recommend Safeway to anyone unless you’re willing to put up with a lot of frustration and spend the next day driving back to receive a price correction for overcharged items.

Normally I love shopping at this store but I simply can't understand why it's okay or not an error that a single slice of cheesecake is priced at $16.99 just for being dipped in less than 2oz of chocolate. It doesn't sound like a big deal, but that's extortion and the fact that no employee has questioned a $17 slice of cheesecake is disappointing and disgusting.
