Raelyn (incorrect spelling) from the Meat Department rocks!:) I visited Safeway today (9/1/25 - Labor Day) to purchase shrimp. The size I needed was out of stock on the floor, so I was asked to wait 10-15 mins while staff checked in the back. When it turned out they did not have any more in stock, instead of sending me on my way, Raelyn kindly and graciously offered me an alternative replacement. Her professionalism and customer service truly stood out. I normally shop at Safeway in Gilbert, but I have never experienced this level of care and attentiveness there, or basically anywhere (Frys, Walmart, etc). Because of Raelyn, I will continue to prioritize shopping at Safeway instead of Frys, and I will choose this Tucson location in the future. Raelyn’s genuine care for customers deserves to be recognized. Employees like her are the reason customers return again and again. She should absolutely be considered for a raise or recognition for the outstanding service she provides:)

Everyone is very helpful and polite, except for the older gentleman cashier Clarence. He's very rude and condescending. This isn't the first time today that he's been rude. Please give him more customer service training.

I usually like Safeway, but on this visit we were ignored and eventually told we couldn't get help with a birthday cake because all the cake decorators had left for the day.
Even though I could be seen at the bakery counter in my wheelchair, I was ignored for several minutes.
When we tried to get a drink at the Safeway Starbucks we had to wait for the only employee to return from a break, and when they did they didn't greet us or thank us for the order. They seemed irritated to have to help us.
The cart collecting employee was the only helpful person in the store, and he asked if I needed help getting into my wheelchair. I appreciated his customer service.

We love our local Safeway. Such an awesome part of our community. It has it's own butchers, bakery,deli etc. Employees are kind and welcoming snd industrious. Ample parking. Easy in/out. Very clean well kept, neat and tidy.
