This review is strictly for Meagan and the poor service i receivedfrom her. I am not one that likes to pull out the race card but there's just no logical explanation. As I walked in, i saw some items on clearance and as I was checking them out, i made eye contact with Megan and gave her a friendly smile.
And she responded with no expression whatsoever. So I was like okay fine. I got my items and as I turned towards the register, Meagan and I made eye contact again,as she was stocking the shelves, with her same blank expression, i just turned my head and continued toward the register. I thought she would come to the register when she saw me heading toward the register but she didn't. A supervisor had to call her, to come to the register to check me out. Megan arrived with the same blank expression. No greeting whatsoever even after I try to make her smile with a little friendly comment. Nothing. I paid and as I'm walking out, I can hear her greet the next customer with what I call the perfect greeting. The customer behind me was a young white lady, with a child. So i'm thinking to myself, wow, can you make it any more obvious. I know for a fact. In fact, the Dollar General does not practice this kind of prejudice.
And DG would be very upset to see megan, treat customers differently because of their race. I believe a manager should speak to Megan and tell her how her personal preferences should be kept to herself and treat EVERY costumer equally.

Corning has a New Dollar General.. It is a stand alone store and carries a wide variety of products. Most are in small or regular size containers. Place is clean and bathroom is also. Friendly service most of the time. Stop in sometime.

I feel drowsy when I shop here. But that might indicate the place is not as trashy as other businesses in Corning. You've got to be on your toes at Flash Market, 10 Box, McDonald's, Cate pharmacy, and Ace.

Corning deserves a much better Dollar General. Some of the small towns within 25 or 30 miles look like something out of a Mad Max movie (with sparse populations of road warriors and bushwackers) but still have well organized, clean DG stores with friendly or neutral-acting employees. One or two of the women are nice here, and it's the only good thing I can say about the store. One of the older women is rude unless you're somebody she knows. I'd rather put up with her rudeness than know her, though.

I like when I visit an establishment that I'm spending my money at, for them to say thank you when they hand u the receipt. The men cashiers here do that. The women, nope.... they check you out and walk off. I do like this store's selection for the most part. Wish they would keep boxes and items to be stocked out of isles but this seems to be a DG thing.
