Dollar General Fayetteville is a convenient location offering everyday essentials at affordable prices. It provides basics, staple foods, and a decent variety of inventory, including seasonal items, from trusted and private brands. The store is always busy and the cashiers are often nice enough, though staff is a mixed bag with some super friendly and some super abrasive workers who all seem overworked. The overall experience is considered subpar with a ton of little inconveniences. The entrance doors are strange, requiring a pull to open and then slamming loudly, which makes the store seem neglected. Inside, there are disorganized, hard to decipher areas and sometimes spilled food on shelves, though this has gotten better. A significant issue is with the freezer aisle, where items like milk and frozen food are at serious risk of being rotten from improper storage, even when not past expiration. While the store is well stocked around holidays and fine in a pinch, it is viewed as below average even for Dollar General. The management is perceived as stingy for not fixing issues like the doors. It is not an outwardly horrible experience, but it is overall subpar.
The people are friendly, but I was sold chocolate that expired over a year ago. They clearly aren't going through all of their stock to check for things that have expired. I've tried calling to let them know and no one answered the phone

Dollar General is much different than Dollar Tree. Try not to confuse them.
