About Kay Rodgers Park
Kay Rodgers Park in Fort Smith, Arkansas, is a versatile venue located near the Arkansas-Oklahoma border with easy access from Interstate I-40. Covering 27 acres, it offers over 100,000 square feet of exhibition and event space, making it suitable for conventions, trade shows, and special events. The park hosts many regional and national events annually, including the Arkansas Oklahoma State Fair, Old Fort Days Rodeo, and Old Fort Days Barrel Futurity. The facility is open year-round and operated by a dedicated full-time staff. The park is known for its lively events, especially the rodeo, which attracts thousands of visitors. Attendees enjoy the livestock shows, vendor booths, and family-friendly atmosphere. Many reviews highlight the friendly staff and the fun experience of attending rodeo events, especially noting family pricing options during the week. Ticket purchasing in advance is recommended to avoid long lines and save money, as tickets are reasonably priced and the event environment is welcoming. However, some visitors have expressed concerns about the condition of the facilities, mentioning that the bathrooms outside the fairgrounds could use better maintenance. The fair rides and the mirror funhouse were also reported to be in need of repairs, with broken mirrors and cleanliness issues. Food stands, such as those offering fries, have been described as disappointing, and some reviews note limited payment options, with cash only being accepted at certain stands, which can be inconvenient. Overall, Kay Rodgers Park provides a fun and engaging environment for events and festivals, with a lively atmosphere and opportunities for family entertainment, though improvements in facility maintenance could enhance visitor experience.
