Gilbert General Store is a family-owned outfitter and store for camping and float trips on the Buffalo River. The staff is amazing, super friendly, and helpful. They are known for their flexibility and kindness, going beyond expectations to ensure a great experience. They work perfectly with groups, including scouts, to form safe plans and provide large, level group campsites. Everything always works perfectly. The drivers are on time, vehicles are reliable, and the shuttle service is excellent. The canoes, kayaks, and lifejackets are all in great condition. They offer different float lengths, including beautiful and calm sections with no white water, and do not require very specific arrival times for shuttles. The store itself is cute and has anything you might need for a trip. Customers describe it as a wonderful experience and a great business with awesome employees. Many have used them for twenty years and regret not finding them sooner. Their reliable service and dedication save trips and create great family days, ensuring people are beyond happy and plan to return.
We went here for rent canoes and kayaks to float the Buffalo. The people were so helpful. Will be back!

We stopped mid float trip to make the short walk from the river to the general store for an ice cream break. It was a really cool place with lots of interesting stuff.
