Post Offices
“This post office is always very clean and looks appealing on the outside and on the inside it is clean and always has everything you might need for letters or packages. Even for being in a rural area, their customer service is wonderful and the wait is not very long in line to mail our parcels. I was only in line for about five minutes until it was my turn. The cashier was very customer centric, smiling, and just overall friendly. There is a mailbox for all letters that are circulating to Glenwood and there is another for all mail going outside of the area to help expidite their processing times. Either way, if you need to mail anything or need stamps this place isn't too bad.”
“Kirby Post Office was a nice little post office well took care of and the people that work here are great. The post office of Kirby was established on April 25, 1879 but did not see a plaque of when this building was build. The town was named for Joseph Lytal Kirby a local citizen. Before adopting Kirby’s name, the settlement was known as Cross Roads because of the intersection of two wagon trails at that location. Guess Kirby sound better then Cross Roads Junction.”
