“First, full disclosure, my late husband was a City Letter Carrier for this Post Office for 27 years! ? Second Point, the Clerk Window is open until 4:30pm on Monday to Friday, unless it's a Federal Holiday. On Saturday, the window is ONLY open FROM 9am to 10:30am. THAT'S IT. This mainly has to do with the fact that Lonoke is considered a small town office. IMO, the Saturday hours ought to be until noon, but it's not my call. I would also like to see the window hours extended to 5pm during the week, but again, not likely, because these hours are pretty firmly set now after many years. There are plenty of P. O. boxes for rent should you want your mail to be kept secure at the Post Office rather than having it sit in your mailbox for hours. ? You can also purchase packaging supplies should you need them. Boxes are available at various sizes to use to mail for a set price per box, regardless of it's weight.... Which is NICE if you, like me, have a knack for fitting items together in a box like a Jenga puzzle!! ?? The Clerks are friendly and will assist you with mailing ?boxes, legal letters that you want to know the person got and when, and holding your mail when you are on vacation for safety. Parking in front of the double doors is plentiful with 2 marked Handicapped Parking ?️ Spaces. As long as you get your letter or package to the office by 4:30pm on Monday through Saturday, and dropped through either of the Out Going Mail Slots in the Lobby, your item will leave Lonoke THAT EVENING when the truck picks up all the Out Going Mail after the office closes. Mail arrives at the Office early each morning and leaves Lonoke once, in the evening. I'm passing this along just so you don't think that if you bring your box early, that it will get on its way soon afterwards. That's not how it works in the offices outside of North Little Rock's General Mail Facility on East McCain. Lonoke Post Office is a good fit for Lonoke. Small town friendliness and helpfulness. ✉️? Oh, one final note, consider it a way to keep your mailman happy. Please, DON'T STOP him on his delivery route and ask him for your mail! He is on a TIGHT TIME SCHEDULE. All the mail is sequenced for delivery for each 20 minutes delivery section. It's a pain, a delay, and a headache, for him to stop his route, go back to the truck, and hunt for your mail. It'll be at your house when you get home. Also, he can't give you someone else's mail. Don't get mad. It's the law. Take it from me, he doesn't want to lose his job. And he can't give you a lift in the Postal Van either. Again, it's the law. My Mac loved his job, his customers, and the dogs and cats he dealt with daily. Best job he ever had!”
