“While driving on Monroe in Lowell, I had a severe flat tire that was leaking rapidly. Having used Speede Lube for our oil changes and repairs other things, I pulled in and asked if they did tires. The gentleman said they don't, so I asked if I could change my tire in their parking lot.

I went out to get started when he rounded the corner and offered to put the car on a lift for me. He pulled it in the bay and proceeded to change the tire. He didn't know I was an existing customer. He was just being an awesome human being.”

“Went for an oil change and I also needed my air filter replaced. The air filter I needed was out of stock. They called the local auto parts store to have the air filter delivered, I had to wait on the air filter for about 30 minutes to be delivered. The young man that helped me was extremely nice and even gave me a discount. If you need your oil changed I would definitely recommend and will be back for my next oil change.”

“So here is the thing. I know these places do get a bad rap for being shady for some reasons, but this one store does not. I had my wheel bearings replaced on the front of my truck and they were willing to do so, granted I brought my own parts. Someone got a hold of the district manager and they were very helpful. Highly recommend. Thanks guys.

After looking at other reviews it seems that things do get missed. I think it is something that will happen anywhere as they do have a high volume of people coming through. If there are issues (oil is missing or something like that), be sure to say something before major damage occurs. Be kind to these folks as they do have a hard job working on our vehicles when we don't have the knowledge to. They already have enough frustrations with our vehicles, don't add to the list headaches.”

“Could have up sold me the highest priced package, but let me know last year’s oil change was the lowest prices as well. Checked my fluids, aired my tires and didn’t need to sell me an air filter because it was fine.( he brought it to me with a new one to compare and the young man was right, I didn’t need one.) Both men were super informative, so polite and took the time to answer my questions and explained what they were doing in real time! I have been going to them for 4 years now.
P.S. They don’t ask for tips but they will take them. They do such a nice thorough job. Offer water and you don’t get out of the car! Let the guys at Take 5 take care of you!”

“I pulled my mother's car in for an oil change and was greeted by Jesse (Assistant Manager) and told him I had just brought it from another shop that did the spark plugs. I told him that they said it needed an oil change, wipers and a battery but knew that Valvoline would be a better deal on the oil change. I was pleasantly surprised with the service I received. Jesse was super helpful and ended up giving me a deal on the wipers and oil change. They also tested the battery and turns out I did not need one like the other place recommended! So not only did I save on the oil change and wipers but I saved $200 by not buying a replacement battery!”

“The transmission machine did not work. Although, that was not the fault of the workers. They tried to use it and for courteous when explaining that it did not work today.
Hayden instructed me that there were other valvolines open that I could go to to get the service and I did that.

“My husband and I had such a lovely experience getting our battery tested and changed in this horrible cold weather. Joshua took the time to help us get everything unhooked tested changed and rehooked. He was a complete time saver and mental health saver and such a time crunch. His help in the cold weather was very much appreciated! 10 out of 10 cannot recommend any higher Thank you so much for your gracious help. “Place is great all these bad reviews though I see in some cases seem like people's own negligence. Times can be long that's to be expected tire centers at Walmart give eta's not exact times plus unlike some departments (such as 1hour photo) they don't tell you it will be fast especially is there's a ton of cars or they're short staffed, damaging your tire further when they have road hazard isn't covered by the policies as it becomes a you damaged them not the road at that point you need to pull over and put on a spare or call a tow truck if you read them you'd know, waiting longer and saying they didn't tell you anything so you wait longer it sends a text message to you when it's done so long as you provide a working number if you want them to say something to you directly and you don't have a working number they will page you so long as you don't leave the store and let them know, if you don't want to wait I recommend bringing someone to take you home or elsewhere to do something else. Also perhaps consider not coming in when you're in a hurry no ETA is accurate to the T. Also maybe if you people weren't such self-serving Karens thinking the world revolves around them they'd have better luck cause at that point it just sounds like it's karma biting you in the rear like you deserve cause please note technicians are also only human they don't move at the speed of sound like you might want them to and if you think you can do a better job do it yourself instead of complaining I'm sure they don't want you there in the first place. XD”

“As a former Naval officer I was always taught to take ownership in everything that my division owned. if one of my guys screwed up, I was the one accountable for that screw up.
We own a 2019 Ford Escape that needed a new battery. It couldn't have come at a more inopportune time as my personal truck (a Toyota) was in the shop getting storm damage repaired and my house which was totaled in the storms has been dragging along in the rebuilding process. I needed this car to be running as both my wife and I need to get to work in different places every day. Well, for those familiar with the Ford Escapes of that era it is no easy feat to replace the battery. I knew that going in and would normally attempt to do it myself but all my tools are in a storage facility and not easy accessible. I called around to most places and was informed that they do NOT install the batteries in Ford Escapes because of the issue of having to take things apart to even get to the battery. I finally called WalMart on Pleasant Grove and was told that they would install the battery for free. I told the person on the phone no less than 3 times that it was a 2019 Ford Escape and was not an easy process and the person insisted that they would replace it. So we jumped the car and drove it to WalMart. When we got there we were informed by a different person in the automotive center that no, they would NOT install the battery. Keeping in mind that I had just been informed of another issue with rebuilding my house (a costly one), I will admit to losing it. I asked to speak to the manager. A man by the name of Austin appeared. I told him the situation, informed him of the phone call the day before and being assured that they would install the battery free of charge, informed him that the vehicle battery was shot and it would no longer start unless it was jumped, informed him that I had to get a rental car because of the battery issue, and informed him that I was now late for work. I then pointed to the sign in the service area that said battery installation is FREE with no notes saying it didn't apply to certain vehicles. This is where Austin took ownership. He said that WalMart would PAY to get it towed to a dealership to put in a new battery AND PAY for the battery due to the inconvenience this situation has caused me. Best part is they lived up to their promise. That's true customer service!! When we went to pick up the car I tried called Austin to apologize for my actions in the morning but he was already gone for the day. Bottom line, Austin backed up Sam Walton's mantra that rule #1 is the customer is always right and rule #2, even if the customer is wrong, see rule #1.

Good job Austin and thanks WalMart Auto on Pleasant Grove for restoring my faith in Walmart's customer service.”
