I cannot say enough good things about Hannah with the Matt Black Insurance Agency (Allstate). We recently received a new mortgage statement showing our house payment had jumped nearly $750 with absolutely no warning. After some digging, we learned our homeowner's insurance had been overcharging us nearly 3x what we should have been paying. The only claim we’ve had was a roof replacement three years ago after a terrible storm, so the increase made no sense.
I reached out to Hannah at 6 PM—fully expecting to hear back the next day—but after seeing the panic in my message, she stopped everything to help me. Within an hour, she had our insurance rate dropped from $13,000 to $4,000. Because of her, our house payment is now actually lower than it was when we bought our home 9 years ago.

Yesterday, I called and spoke with Alyssa about a billing question. I then casually asked her to review our policies to maximize coverage and evaluate opportunities for cost savings. She patiently spent over an hour on the phone identifying gaps in our coverage and places we could streamline costs.

Hannah and Wyatt were absolutely incredible to work with. We were juggling so many things at once, struggling to find insurance and they both took their time to walk us through every step of getting our insurance set up. They communicated everything clearly, followed through on every detail, and genuinely cared about helping us. Their kindness and professionalism truly stood out. We have been with Allstate for 22 years. We were moved to this agency from Mark Goins in Jacksonville, AR. Needless to say we haven't had a great experience. We tried 4x to have our roof replaced (multiple hail damage identified) but Allstate says it's fine. Not so! Also, when we have called they just say they will get someone to reach out. Customer service in this whole company is a joke and we will be moving to USAA. Never in my life thought I would leave Allstate but between everything we have dealt with this company we are DONE with them. I never personally go and do reviews so if I am posting this you know this company is bad!

I'm very happy with Allstate. Your chat service today was able to get immediate assistance for a problem with an incorrect mortgage company listing that would have prevented me from refinancing. They updated the mortgage holder today so I can close the refi Tuesday. This is great service! Thank you!

We all know that insurance is expensive. As usual, my insurance expenses increased significantly this year with Allstate. The silver lining is Alanna Miller. She spent much time on the phone with me to explain why my premiums increased and pointed out the my coverage was better than most. This business has been nothing but a problem since we first interacted. We were trying to buy a home, and the transaction ended up falling through. We were forced to pay for an earthquake policy on the house we were trying to buy before we even had a closing date, when all we wanted was homeowners insurance. When the transaction fell through, we were promised a refund. I followed up after a week, and they told me my refun had been processed and I'd see it in a few days. I checked back again after a few days, and I was told it had been processed and would show up by the end of the week. Well, here we are over a month later, and they are saying that the company they use for earthquake policies doesn't offer refunds all of a sudden. So, now I have to somehow prove that I didn't buy the house or I lose my money to insure a house I don't own with a policy I never wanted in the first place.

There’s no nice way to say that this is the worst insurance agency I’ve ever had the displeasure of associating with.
My roof was leaking. Multiple roofing companies evaluated my roof and determined it needed a full replacement due to hail damage. These weren’t door-knockers trying to make a buck. I chose the companies myself and sought them out due to favorable reputations. Despite this, my claim was repeatedly denied. I ended up going out-of-pocket $11k to replace my roof.
That alone was enough to earn a single star but it gets worse.
I purchased new insurance from a different company and called Matt Black Allstate to cancel. Of course I called because even though I’m able to sign up for insurance entirely online, I can’t cancel that way.
During cancellation, the clerk at the agency had the audacity to admonish me for cancelling such a “great” policy. I lost it. Entirely on me for losing it, but I eventually apologized to the guy. It wasn’t his fault the company sucked. At the end of the call, I asked if there would be some sort of confirmation email and he said no, but I should get a refund in the mail. Okay, fair enough.
Well, fast-forward a month or so and I’m wondering where my refund’s at. I log into the Allstate app and my policy is still in effect!
They just didn’t process the cancellation. I had to call Allstate corporate to get my policy cancelled. I have no idea if this failure to cancel was malice or just incompetence but are either of those qualities you want in your insurance agent?

Erica was absolutely wonderful. She not only answered all my questions, but she went over all my options as well as pros and cons of each option. I had thought about researching to switch insurance due to rate increase. I mentioned that my insurance had seemed to had gotten pretty high. She immediately took a look at my policy. She increased my coverage and lowered my rate!!! Amazing service, very sweet and professional, proactive and knows her job. I am very impressed!
