Everyone that works there is great except for the mean lady at register. She's rude with no bedside manners. The store is clean and neat with lots n lots of stuff. Gotta b careful tho, what's in a box may not be what's advertised on the box.

This place has hours posted for their thrift store on their googlewebsite. The hours posted are not for the thrift store but that is not specified. I drove 1.5 hours to go to the thrift store (on a thursday March 10th 2022) which says it would be open. It was not. I was told by the lady running the store that Its only open monday friday and saturday and that website was wrong. I informed her that I drove 1.5 hours to visit the store and was told "too bad" "you should have called first". She was probably the most rude person I have ever encountered in my 15+ years in the town on Mountain View. Fix your website and get rid of your rude employees!

I Love this place. Great deals. $2.00 for a bag of clothes. $1.25 for a jacket. All kinds of cute furniture. Great second hand shop!

A great place providing a great service to the community. Their prices are affordable and it’s truly one of the last real thrift stores out there trying to help people. The volunteers are friendly and the store is very well organized with lots and lots of stuff.

I reviewed this place with 5 stars years ago but I felt compelled to change it this weekend. I lived in Mountain View for a long time before I heard about this place and I have developed a love hate relationship with it. It is not advertised but everyone seems to know about it. Locals call it the Dorcas House/Dorcas Thrift Store. It is still a great place to shop and it does great things including giving food out to low income people. I have never gotten food here but I saw someone who did once and it was amazing what they gave. I found out about this place years ago because one of their employees were having a yard sale and she had the courtesy to tell me where she was getting her items. When I first started shopping here, I could put clothing items in a bag for $2 a bag. That's what I was told by an employee that I could do. One day, not long after I started shopping here, the man who runs this place (Jim) started pulling stuff out of my bag at the cash register. I asked him why and he told me that I could not put hats and bibs in the bag. I had no idea and he pointed to a small 5x7 sign on the cash register stating what could and could not go in the bag. Now, they have put up more signs and it's clearer but I had no way to know of this rule until I was told. Then, there is a sign up stating don't overfill the bags. One of the employees told me, if the bag will tie shut, then it's not overfilled. I started filling up and tying the bags shut. Months after she told me that, the same man who runs it got mad and told me that my bags were overfilled. I told him what his employee told me and he said that, if the bags had to be tied shut, they were overstuffed and he charged me extra. Not long after that, I lived in Mountain View and did not have a job for a few months so I decided to volunteer at this place. Every week, I was asked to throw out the clothes with the old tags. Some weeks were better than others but , in one day, I trashed 800 pieces of clothes. I asked about dumpster diving claim them and was told it was illegal to dumpster dive in Mountain View. I loved volunteering here because I got stuff so cheap and because I was so bored at home but I realized that most employees are getting their stuff for very cheap and even free. If it's not community service, for their criminal offenses, that is why they are volunteering and most of them are reselling the items. Not that there is anything wrong with this. These older ladies are putting in long hours so they have a right to some kind of discount. Last weekend, I was shopping in this place and there were some buggies by the front door. People were shopping in them just like we usually do and no one says a word because I assume it's overstock because buggies and boxes are by the front door a lot. On Friday, the older lady that was working saw us digging in the baskets by the front door, got mad and told us that we were not allowed in the buggies by the door, yelled at another to come and get them, and then threw a fit. She told me, if she saw that thing first, she would have gotten it and I had to right to dig in that basket. If I had it to do over, I would have just given the item to her but I was caught so off guard by her behavior that I just laughed nervously. After she charged me an insane price for the item that I got from the front door buggy, she picked up a purse and threw it. Everyone was staring and I was so embarrassed that I did not know what to do. She was clearly furious. I still say this is a great place to shop. I buy 99.999% of my children's clothes here but there is no posted price (minus the clothes) and you never know what you are going to pay. The man charges way more than anyone else and sometimes he charges the same that Walmart charges for an item. It might be because he does not like me because I overfilled the bags that day. I don't know. When I was volunteering, I heard the man state this place makes around $50K a year. That is not that much considering what they bring in and the fact that th
