Beautiful area and campground! Right on the water. Has a playground in the middle of the campgrounds. The women's showers in the restroom closest to the entrance were horrible, filthy. There were two showers but only one was in working order, it was the handicapped one, and the shower head was way too low for a standing person. The drain drained very slowly, so the filth on the shower floor got up around the ankles before the shower was done. The next evening I tried the showers farther away, near the primitive camping. They were good. Some of the campsites were too close together for my liking. (April 2023)

We have been going to Shoal Bay Park & Campgrounds for over fifty years and this past Wednesday while checking in we saw something that I thought I would NEVER see.You are now being charged to enter the park. If you are a "walk-in, riding a bike, if you want to spend the day fishing or picnicking......you will now have to pay unless you are a registered camper.Just spent the past five days at shoal Bay and such a nice, relaxing time. We were originally supposed to stay Thursday thru Monday but it was SO nice, we got online and stayed an extra day. They have a new gate attendant this year, his name is Paul and he is a total hoot.We have made friends with him over the past three or four times we have been there this year and I look forward to seeing him as much as enjoying the peace and quiet and have got to say we had plenty of that this time. No children running around screaming, hollering. It was such a pleasant time.I did post some of my nighttime, campfire pics but did it in the wrong process. Hope they can be seen.

Beautiful park. The shower and bathrooms were decent. The sites are well maintained. The swim area is a bit small and the bottom has a lot of silt and sticks, so definitely bring water shoes. They have multiple ramps and docks. The way you have to reserve the spot is not the easiest (online only). However, there is cell service here, so you are able to reserve it from your phone while here. The site is a little difficult to understand, so be patient.Overall, it's a great park to stay at.

This park is right on lake Dardanelle. We had a good spot with a lake view. The park has bathrooms and showers. Some spots are right on the lake. Very kid friendly with a little beach and swimming. The park has a playground and is dog friendly. No bike trails but you can ride around the park. Lots of boat parking.

We have been coming to Shoal Bay for over 40 years. It is very clean. Has playground for the kiddies. Easy in/out campsites, Corp Rangers patrol regularly so there is NO trouble of any kind other than the general argument on who caught the biggest fish.Today is March the 18th and we just set up camp at Shop for the weekend.I wougd highly recommend Shoal Bay to anyone that loves camping, hiking and just relaxing.

It's a beautiful lake I've been here 12 times in 2 years and swimming is always closed due to ecoli or some kind of bacteria but you can go tubing boating skiing diving It's ridiculous I don't recommend going to this lake blue mountain is a much better lake and never closed

We live close to the park. Go walking daily and fish in Shoal Bay very frequently. We love it here. Very nice community.
