I bought a table and chairs, plus 3 bar stools. The quality is top notch. I'm shocked to see reviews that say otherwise. I love everything I purchased. I get compliments all the time!

D- RATING WITH THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. Long overdue review. I will keep it short. This company is nefarious and cannot be trusted. They started off the relationship by their deceptive promise to delivery by Christmas and we had to initiate contact in March of the following year to find out where our order was. This company tried to offload the damaged order several times to us. Each delivery had severe damage to it. We finally had to contact our credit back to get our $8000 back.

I am updating my review to a one star. IMO you don't need the white glove service. My husband and I could lift the pieces. It was just another way for them to get $975 out of me with the fear of how heavy the items were! What a joke! And the assembly the delivery guys did is comical.

I ordered a table which took over three months to get. This was OK because I kind of planned on it. When the table arrived, it was damaged. This was noted on my delivery slip and James and James was contacted right away. They offered to give me $400, so that I could have the table repaired myself. Which I thought was unrealistic given the fact it shouldn't be my responsibility to repair this. Long story short, they sent the freight company back out to pick up the table to have it repaired. I was told at the time it was picked up That it would take 2 to 3 weeks to repair. It has been five weeks so far. I keep having to check in with them because no one keeps me up-to-date as to what's going on. Now I'm being told it's going to be another week or so, so three months to get a tableand three months to get it repaired?? Really disappointed in the service and very disappointed in the companies Willingness to take responsibility or to expedite the process. It's like, they got their money and now they really don't care.

Most tables today are made of veneer wood, rubber, or composite materials. I was interested in J&J because it's made in the USA and uses real wood. I ordered a farm table with four chairs but cancelled it right away after reading complaints that said items arrived damaged, the quality was bad, the stain did not match, and J&J will not rectify any errors. I cancelled it immediately. Despite my desire to have faith in this company's integrity, I simply cannot take the chance. The five stars is for the person who helped cancel my order and was very pleasant over the phone.

I wish I could leave a zero star review. This company has a really nice website, and the appearance of a "homegrown American" company. They are not that. I would not recommend them at all. For starters, note the language on their website. They say their furniture is "assembled in America". Not made in America. This is made evident by the products you receive. We ordered chairs from them and they came with instructions that say "printed in Vietnam". (why would you bother printing instructions in another country if your product was also not from there?). James + James is clearly trying to appeal to the idea of supporting American companies and production, but that is a farce. Second, we ordered a table and bench from them. One of the table legs (4 inches wide) has a split knot halfway through it - that is very sharp and splintered. When I brought this to their attention, the response from James + James is this is a "feature". While it may have been a natural feature of the wood, why this particular piece was chosen for the leg is unclear (as it presents a structural risk and also hazard for anyone who touches this area). The bench had a similar gap in the end that was splintered and sharp (and is in a place where people's hands can easily get caught. The response I received from James + James on these issues was that they could give me advice for patching these areas myself if I didn't like them. Had I not paid over $5,000 for the table and bench, I may have accepted that as an answer - but this is not the quality of product I would expect for paying that much money. I'm not sure why anyone would think this is an acceptable response from a company supplying a brand new product. It's also even more unclear why they left these "features" in the wood untouched, because the top of the table has several knots that they bothered to fill in with resin (albeit a cloudy, yellowed resin that looks very cheap for the price point). Finally, not a single table leg is plumb on our table - and it is noticeable from looking at it. James + James did offer to have the delivery company come out and fix this, but they installed them incorrectly the first time, so I'm not quite sure how that would help. The pockets that hold the table legs also have major gaps between the leg and the pocket, so it takes multiple shims to hold the table leg in place so it stays plumb. I cannot recommend this company in the slightest. They are awful to work with and their products are a bait and switch from what they show on their website. They hide behind an internet facade, and do not care about the products that end up in your home.

I feel duped by this company. I paid $3000 for a queen size bed which is too large for my queen size mattress. And within one day of ordering, I had second thoughts on the color but they said it was already in production so I couldn’t change; yet it took months to receive. I see beds on fb marketplace that are less than $500 that I should have ordered. Lesson learned.

While they might have nice furniture and I say might since I won't be receiving my table for months, their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. We recently moved across country due to illness and needing to be close to a treatment center. We were unable to fit our oversized custom table in our new home and so we decided to order a smaller table from James & James. We ordered the table and received a receipt however 3 days later we received an email alerting us that our table is "now in production" and would be ready in 12 weeks. I reached out to see if I could cancel the order because we were without a table and our kids are coming for Christmas. The response was an emphatic no! Apparently I had 24 hours to cancel. They also said it clearly states this on their website??? I still can't find it and if that's the case why isn't it up front and center? Perhaps because people might cancel their order as they might not be able to wait 3 months to eat? I find it hard to imagine that my table takes 12 weeks to finish once it enters production. I reached out to a friend who is a finishing carpenter and he said it's BS. I'm definitely not happy and feel this company is unethical!

I can handle my table being two weeks late, and yes, I get it's an approximate date, the problem is, I didn't get what I ordered and paid for. As soon as they unwrapped the legs, I could tell they were a different color. More gray than Harvest Wheat. They assembled the table and one leg is even shorter than the others, which made the table rock. After paying 3300 for the table , I was very disappointed. I understand a "slight variation" in color, like the website says, but all 4 legs are gray not matching the table top which is Harvest Wheat color. Their solution: put a pad under the leg that's short and have a professional redo the legs!!! I already thought I had a professional make the table! It's not like this table is from Walmart!. There was no, " How about we do this for you?" No compromising solution whatsoever! I would have liked 4 new legs sent to me in Harvest Wheat and a packing slip to send the gray legs back....which may even solve the rocking table situation. That wasn't happening.... They have their money and you have your table and that's it!

We ordered one of their desks for our new home and are very pleased with our purchase. We even copied the overall design of the room in their promotional photo for the overall design of our office.

We paid several thousands of dollars for a dining set last October. It took this company about 8 months to finally deliver it. Within a few weeks the bench started rocking and I could see that some of the screws were stripping out of the leg brace. I tried to turn the bench over to get a closer look and the entire leg fell off along with the bottom crossbar snapping off. After emailing with their sales rep, she has told me that a replacement is not possible and that they will pay for a local handyman to repair it, but will not provide any replacement parts. I’ve tried explaining that this construction is too weak to repair and it needs more support and a new bottom brace because this one split, but she continues to insist that it can be repaired. I do not trust this company to actually pay a handyman or reimburse me for one. This is my main frustration with James+James, but additionally, the stain on the table does not match the chairs, which also does not match the bench. There are rough edges around parts of the table that snag on clothing and were not given a smooth and consistent sanding and topcoat. Finally, the communication for this supposed high-end furniture seller is also poor when it comes to updates and delays. Overall, my family and I are incredibly angry and disappointed. This was supposed to be a “legacy” that we could pass on for generations, like the website claims and now we’re out thousands of dollars for furniture we could have bought at Target. If I had known how poorly built this furniture is, I would have never considered buying anything from here. Read all the BBB reviews before purchasing. Do not waste your money.

In June 2023 I worked with Emilie from James and James to order a Live Edge Bed with a base to fit my Casper Adjustable Base. On Oct 4th my bed was delivered and set-up. The delivery person described it as a beautiful statement piece and I fully agree. The base fit perfectly around my existing adjustable base and the headboard is beautifully stained and finished allowing the details of the wood to show in the headboard. This is a well made bed that I'm looking forward to enjoying for years. A Big Thank You to the carpenters and Peyton for following up with me after I received my purchase.

Ordered the Tresse style dinning table with matching bench. The tops are finished well but the legs are rough and don't match the color nor lacquer of the tops. The legs and crossbars have exposed knots and cracks that did not get filled with clear resin. I now need to address these problem areas otherwise these areas will eventually crumble out and or split entirely. Also worth mentioning, as James+James will not, they use oil based polyurethane which absolutely stinks. You'll need to air the table out for a week prior to bringing inside. Thank goodness I have a large enough garage to do so. Given these issues and lack of overall quality I can not recommend.

As others here state, the finish on the legs is not as high as the table top. Ordered a Tressel style dining table in Harvest Wheat with matching bench. The tops are close to the earth tone color but the legs are a lighter tone with hints of grey. In addition, the legs are much rougher and lack the same amount of lacquer as the top. This lack of quality results in exposed knots on the legs and crossbars that are not filled with resin and will eventually crumble away. Also, the crossbar for the bench has a crack that runs along the grain. Can see right through. Again, no epoxy resin was applied to address this. Unfortunately I now have to apply resin in these problem areas and give all legs a sanding with probably 2-3 coats of lacquer. One last thing worth mentioning (because James+James will not) they use oil based polyurethane which absolutely stinks. Expect to air this out in your garage for at least a week prior to assembly. Given these issues, I definitely do not recommend.

My table from James + James was delivered last week. It is the most gorgeous piece of furniture I have ever seen. It is so well made that it should last for generations. If you want extremely high-quality furniture reasonably priced James + James is the only place you need to look. I will add pictures, but they don't do it justice.
