Old Spanish Treasure Cave is a fascinating and unique natural attraction located in Sulphur Springs, Arkansas. As seen on the Discovery Science Channel, it is a privately owned show cave offering guided tours led by passionate and knowledgeable guides, including the owner. Visitors can explore the cave’s growing formations, glittering walls, and embedded fossils of ancient sea life, making each visit a lively and intriguing experience. The cave’s rich history dates back to the Spanish conquistadors, with records and artifacts from a winter spent inside the cave. The tours are educational, detailed, and paced to keep visitors of all ages engaged, including children. Besides the underground adventure, the site features a gift shop and rock shop with interesting merchandise. The facility also offers unique activities such as sluicing for gemstones and fossils, and camping experiences for Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and Venture Crews. The rustic, natural setting and the dedicated staff make it a memorable destination. While not large or highly commercialized, the cave’s ongoing exploration and excavation by local spelunkers and treasure hunters add to its charm and allure. Overall, Old Spanish Treasure Cave is a highly recommended spot for those seeking an authentic, educational, and adventurous experience in northwest Arkansas.
Easy access. Our tour guide, Cora, was great. She provided lots of interesting scientific and historical facts about the cave and the area.

The Old Spanish Treasure Cave is a cave unlike any l've seen, and Paul, the owner, is expert guide who provides interesting commentary on the history of the cave and detailed information on its geology. This cave is definitely a site worth visiting in southwest Missouri.
