Primark Arrives in Michigan as Part of US Growth

Primark, the Irish-born fashion retailer known for its wallet-friendly prices, is about to open its first store in the Great Lakes State. The new 36,600-square-foot shop will open its doors on September 12 at Great Lakes Crossing Outlets in Auburn Hills, near Detroit.

The Michigan debut is part of Primark's broader U.S. expansion plan. Hot on the heels of an Orlando opening on August 29, the Auburn Hills store will bring Primark's U.S. presence to 27 stores across 11 states.

Kevin Tulip, President of Primark U.S., is excited about the new location. "Entering the state of Michigan is an exciting step for us at Primark," he says. "We're already feeling the love – or Primania – from the community as we build our store team and educate those new to the brand on all we offer."

So, what's in store for Michigan shoppers? Primark's shelves will be filled with affordable fashion essentials for women, men, and kids, as well as beauty products, homeware, and accessories. Prices are easy on the wallet. Denim starts at $10 and t-shirts at $4.

Primark also carries licensed products. Sports lovers can find NBA Detroit Pistons and NFL Detroit Lions gear, while those who never outgrew their Disney obsession (no judgment here) can buy Disney-themed collections.

Mark your calendars for the grand opening set for September 12 at 11 a.m. The event will be complete with a live DJ, awesome giveaways, and local treats (while supplies last).

Apart from its fashion, Primark brings jobs too. The company is actively recruiting retail staff, offering sales associate positions starting at a competitive $15.25 per hour.

Founded in Ireland in 1969 under the Penneys brand, Primark turned into a retail superpower with over 440 stores globally. And it's showing no signs of slowing down. New stores are already in the works for Virginia, Texas, and Maryland, and a shiny new distribution center just opened its doors in Jacksonville, Florida.

Tulip summed up the mood perfectly: "The folks in and around The Motor City have welcomed us with open arms, and we can't wait to return the favor as we gear up for opening day!"
