I was referred to this bank from another business owner. Everything sounded great, but you soon realize that because they are not a large bank, they can't afford to have an app for their credit cards, nor can you link the business visa to the business bank account because the option doesn't exist. It only exists for personal accounts at Van City, not business accounts (You know, because that makes so much sense). It has been a very stressful and time consuming experience at Van City and I do not recommend this bank to any other business owners!

Sharlene at the Vancity South Fraser location in Abbotsford is phenomenal. I’ve been banking with Vancity for 10 years and the past couple years she has been so helpful. She genuinely cares about and takes the time to establish and build relationships with her clients.Even when the lines are long she’s always willing to help out, and address your banking concerns, big or small. Very long wait. Always have to wait more than 20 minutes and always understaffed.The management should do something about this issue but I guess they chose not to.I'm at the point that I'm strongly considering to move my business account to another bank institution.

They have to do a hard credit check to tell you if you even can get an account. Won't tell you if you can or can't get an account without doing it. So you could hurt your credit for nothing.

Anytime we go there…. This bank always has a huge line up. Their customer service just sucks and they don’t move the line quickly. It’s just a time consuming. They should hire more people to serve through the customers line.

UPDATE - after 3 calls to and from the bank -my credit score was restored. I will stay with the bank. Follow through is so important and they delivered. It was very inconvenient but in the end, this issue was resolved.Been with this bank for 20 years perfect history of payments. Dinged my credit over 77 cents of interest charged after I paidOff the small balance my line of credit. They will not reverse. Bad business. The response to this review makes no sense. I am not upset about being charged fees or interest. I am upset because vancity charged 77 cents of interest after I paid the balance and did not notify me and then proceeded to report a delinquent missed payment to the credit bureau and tarnish my perfect credit for the 77 cents. And you say call? I was on the phone with 3 people today who basically said sorry we cant do anything. Not sure what you think calling again will do. I think a courtesy call for people like me would be nice especially vancity wants to ruin credit over 77 cents. If you want a bank thst does not care about the repercussions of thier indiscretion and lack of consideration for hard work in maintaining a perfect credit score....bank with vancity lol.

Every time I go into this bank.. There's a lineup. Nowa days with the banks making so much money customer service aould be #1 with getting people on their way. Or just put some couches and have beverages served with a viewing of a movie whilst you wait.
