Genius seems mean uninformed and stupid?
I had a morning appointment. They gave me (bad) advice. So I went home, got the drive they said I could use, cleared it off, and came back.
It’s now the afternoon. I am now hungry and they are telling me that no, they can’t do that. It has to be a computer, not a hard drive! Well fffs.
I could have just brought in my brand new MacBook mac instead of this hard drive.
Wasting my time. That my experience today. Apple is wasting my time and wants to be called a “Genius” for it.
Very angry right now, if you can’t tell.
Update: I can’t believe it but the messed it up even more! They lost all the data on my laptop. AND they lost all the data on my new Mac mini. All the setup I’ve been doing since I bought it - gone. All my work on my last little top. Gone.
I’m convinced they did this because I posted this bad review.
Do not go to Apple Metrotown! They do not know what they’re doing and will destroy your stuff.

Micheal at the genius bar was extremely rude and unhelpful. Did not believe me when I proved to him that my laptop crashing was not my fault. Still wanted to charge me $800. Every single person in that store was absolutely awful. I never write reviews but I’m warning everyone not to go there. Bald white guy was so rude too.

worst experience ever. come in today at 1:30 to fix my iPhone(with AppleCare ) . technician has no knowledge about what's going on. says they have not enough data to diagnose the problem, I asked to change another technician, and the staff call eric come in ask me why I wanna to switch to another technician. I told him the last tech could diagnose the problem. all the sudden gh
this Eric gu ask me to leave because I have attitude problem . I have been patiently waiting for 1 1/2hr . what's the point I'm paying to buy an apple product anymore.
After 2 hrs I have to leave with an unfixed product.

I bought a phone here for instore pickup with a scheduled pickup up time between 7:15 to 7:30. I arrived on time and my phone is not ready. It is now 8:15 late and my phone is not ready. I wasted my time coming to this store. Apple customer service gets worse every time.

I had an incredible experience with Sadaf, and I believe it's really important for Apple to prioritize hiring more BIPOC employees, especially women. In the past, I’ve encountered a hostile environment at other locations, where staff seemed to belittle customers, leading me to avoid seeking help with my Apple Care, something I’ve already paid for. Sadaf was a breath of fresh air. She was incredibly supportive, patient, and made me feel comfortable expressing my concerns. It’s rare to find specialists who can guide you through the process in such a fast-paced environment, but Sadaf managed to do that while going above and beyond to be as helpful as possible. Her understanding and considerate approach made so much difference!! I’ve limited myself from relying on apple for purchases due to the company not being transparent about its practices, the bare minimum they can do is recognise employees like Sadaf who treat customers with respect and empathy!! I really appreciate her assistance and will trust her with any help I need on my Apple devices in the future!

Today i had a pretty bad and disappointed experience at the apple metropolitan store in vancouver. I came to pick up my iphone 16 pro max and asked for help with my mac book pro 2015. I don't understand why my computer screen won't turn on while the touch bar is still working normally. After waiting for more than 50 minutes, an apple tech came to activate my computer with an Assus screen. I was quite surprised and expected reasonable support from the apple staff. He said the computer was more than 8 years old and there were no replacement parts.
He gave me 3 solutions:
1. I should go find a black market screen replacement.
2. I must connect the macbook hardware to another monitor.
3. I buy a new macbook.
After arguing about whether apple products have no other customer support policy, or i have to throw away a product worth thousands of dollars after 8 years of use.
Then he gave me another bad option: “he will find replacement parts for me and it will cost $1000. However, Macbook 2024 is only about $1300 and there is a student discount program”. I don’t think I am stupid enough to accept those offers. Then he invited senior management to “support” or threaten me. “What can I do for you? Electronic products are only good for 5 years, your product is 8 years old. So we cannot support the repair. If you want to replace the screen, it will cost $1000. I can’t help you any further”. I asked him about the iphone 16 pro max I just bought, if it will also only last for 5 years. He said YES and smiled contemptuously.
I used to be a loyal customer of the Apple ecosystem, I always support all Apple products: magic mouse, apple pencil 2, ipad pro, iphone pro max, apple watch... But after today, I have to reconsider that. I don't want to fall into this situation again. I'm thinking of returning the iphone 16 pro max that I just received this morning. This is the worst experience when I misplaced my trust in the Apple ecosystem. I completely lost faith in Apple.
