“I cannot rave enough about Meat King. We use their catering portions for almost all of our events. The creamy garlic chicken Alfredo is a family favourite. We recently tried the bacon cheeseburger penne and it’s bomb. They have the freshest meats and delicious pizza. The dough is unlike any I’ve tried locally. If you haven’t tried it out, you’re surely missing out.”

“The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a good selection of mainstream cuts of meat and there are also other less ordinary things which are actually gourmet some of which include ox-tail, chicken liver, also frozen shrimp and prawns. Also they sell a Hungarian smoked sausage which is really delicious.You can also buy eggs and milk as well as condiments. Actually it beats the heck out of the bigger stores that have lineups and bad parking. The only thing you can’t get are vegetables and bread.I will support Rio Friendly Meats before I go to a big chain store.”

“Bought the pork belly not expecting much, but was I surprised to taste how fresh and tender the meat was! Even after being in the freezer and defrosting, the meat didnt have that distinct pork "smell." Will definitely be going there more frequently :)”

“I have been coming to the BB for over 10 years. Anytime I am in the neighborhood I will stop in and get some treats from back home ( its a guilty pleasure ) as well as great snacks and treats from the UK they also have a great butcher counter. The pork pies and sausage rolls (I like the chicken) are amazing and I always stock up ! This is the place I always get my Christmas gammon to make in to ham every year as well. Be sure to book ahead for your turkeys and hams though as they only bring in limited amounts, However this year I did not and chanced it by turning up the day before Christmas eve looking for a gammon and was totally shocked they had one spare !! I have never had a bad experience here, LOVE this place and the team !”

“I love this place! I frequently shop there and the bone broth is the best I’ve ever had. The beef, chicken and defender(mushroom based) broth are my favourites. I’ve always found the staff to be really helpful in offering suggestions and the owner Alan is really kind and puts so much effort into the quality and variety of the great selection of meats, cheeses, frozen options, broth, etc. I did try to buy some things the other day and found that they were temporarily closed.I hope they are open again soon. Very grateful for their products and will always support !”

“Even if it doesn't have as big of a selection as bigger chain grocery stores, I find myself coming here much more often. It's close to home and the staff is friendly. The quality of the meat is really good, and their produce section usually has a good selection. They have all the basics that I regularly need.One time I came in looking for dried chives, the manager or owner (I assume) came over and offered to help me look. When he realized that they did not stock chives, he ordered some on the spot. And now they should be stocking chives! It is nice to have that kind of local connection you wouldn't find at bigger stores.”

“Friend Johnny, who's an actor who used to work here. He highly recommended this place and I've been there a few times. They're chicken is just amazing. I also had some of the cold cut meats. I tell you I've never had better quality meat at the prices as well as some eggs. For some reason the eggs here were just so good. Sean was exceptional. I've been there a few times and he's always served me well. Thank you so much. It's always great to see small businesses with staff that are happy to serve. “Odd name for a restaurant that serves lots of meat but if you are visiting Lonsdale Market.. this is the place to eat. Generous portions and the roast beef and pierogies were excellent ! Bring it outside and eat by the dock and watch the boats go by.”
